Three for Three
Tonight three lucky players were good enough to put up three points on the night. The first player to get three tonight was Chris Kunitz in which he scored two goals and one assist against the New York Islanders. Being paired with arguably the best player in the league gives you that kind of benefit in the NHL. The second player to score three points tonight was Daniel Sedin in which he scored two goals and one assist. The Vancouver Canucks rolled over the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 6-2 victory in Vancouver. The third player to score three points tonight is…. Ryan Stanton. Stanton is a 24 year old undrafted defender for the Vancouver Canucks, who has played a whole 25 games (24 this season) and logged 10 points. Looks like Vancouver may have a nice free wallet to work with this season.
50 in 50?
Alex Ovechkin is a man on fire who scored goals number 18 and 19 against the Montreal Canadiens. While it was in a losing effort, Ovechkin is on an incredible tear this year in Washington and is currently on pace for 70+ goals. With Nicklas Backstrom as the centre, it is possible (though unlikely) that Ovechkin completes this feat.
Angels in the Goal Crease
Ben Bishop and Jonas Hiller stood on their heads tonight as Anaheim and Tampa Bay played each other. Both goalies were lights out in Anaheim as they combined for a save percentage of .986. Ryan Getzlaf broke the stalemate in overtime with an unassisted slapshot goal. Hopefully Cory Conacher can produce for Ottawa just to make them feel better about this deal.

Bobrovcop out to lunch
Sergei Bobrovsky is losing his policing license as he failed to stop six goals against the Vancouver Canucks. Bobrovsky stopped 29/35 shots and had a .829 save percentage to cap the night. The hardest part to look at is the fact that none of the goals scored were on man advantages for Vancouver.
Columbus' Offensive Production
The Columbus Blue Jackets scored two goals on six shots against the Vancouver Canucks tonight. While Luongo looks bad with a .875 save percentage, players like Johnson, Murray, Foligno, Jenner, Tyutin, and Atkinson were minus two or three, and totalled for seven of the teams 18 shots. Not that people expect much from Columbus this year, but the lack of Horton and Gaborik are clear distinctions in where this team is about to go.
Nicklas Backstrom
As one of the best centres in the league, Backstrom is gifted with playing with the best shot in the NHL, and has failed to accumulate a single point in his last two games. Backstrom has tallied zero points on eight shots, two PIM, two blocks, and one hit. While Washington has slumped a bit in the scoring department (minus Ovechkin), they'll have a chance to rebound against Toronto Saturday night.
As usual, any suggestions, bring them to light!
