Studs
Tuuka Rask: The Bruins netminder stopped at 28 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season (his other one was against Tampa on Oct. 19). Rask has now won three games in a row, and has a 1.52 GAA and .948 save percentage.
Gregory Campbell: Campbell has an excellent night for leagues with a lot of categories, contributing a little to everything. He had an assist, a plus-one, two shots, two pims, one hit, one blocked shot, and won three of eight faceoffs.
Radko Gudas: The rookie defencemen was one of the bright spots for the Lightning against the Bruins, taking five shots, while adding seven hits and blocking a shot. There’s only been one game this season where he didn’t hit someone (against Florida on Oct. 27, but he did pick up 22 penalty minutes in that game), and only one game where he didn’t block a shot (against Boston in the season opener). His 62 hits is third in the league, and 39 blocked shots in 18th.
Duds
Steven Stamkos: The fantasy hockey world is talking about just one: Steven Stamkos and his broken tibula. As a Stamkos owner in a points only league that is currently tied for first place, this hurts a lot. Now I know how Crosby owners felt a couple of years back.
Steven Stamkos trade offers: Probably every Stamkos owner was sent a trade offer after the injury. The trade forum is full of them (I was offered Hodgson, Mike Richards and third round pick in one offer). Most of these deals are going to suck, and Stamkos owners need to be prepared for a few months of these.
Marty St. Louis: He didn’t do well against Boston, finishing with a minus-one, two shots, two takeaways and a giveaway. The Bolts captain is now pointless in four games. He hasn’t scored a point against a playoff team since Oct 24 against the Blackhawks, nine games ago. He’s going to need to step it up.
Reilly Smith: The Bruins forward has seen some top ice time recently, but you wouldn’t know it after the Tampa game. Smith put up nothing on the board except for a giveaway, snapping a four-game point streak in the process.
