    Default Upping my Defense

See team in signature, with Brent Burns on IR now, my D isn't that strong anymore. Phaneuf hasn't done anything in a week and a half but there's no way I'll drop him.

I have Wideman and Dillon, and they've been nice fillers, but I'd ideally like a guy who can sustain the ability to put up fantasy points...Wideman had -0.50 in my league tonight...

    Dennis Wideman Cgy - D ---- 62.75
    Dion Phaneuf Tor - D ---- 61.50
    Brenden Dillon Dal - D ---- 58.75

Here's whose available and their current Fantasy Points for the season in my league:

    Mike Green Was - D ---- 54.25
    Brent Seabrook Chi - D ---- 53.00
    James Wisniewski Cls - D ---- 50.25
    Ryan McDonagh NYR - D ---- 48.75
    Dan Boyle SJ - D ---- 36.00

Radko Gudas TB - D (this guy is 3rd in my league in Fantasy Points behind Subban & Karlsson...I think cuz of his 57 PIM and 53 HITS) ---- 77.50

So, what do people think? I mean my current guys have more season points than the FAs but season points can also be deceiving. For example in the last 7 days, Green has put up 20 points, McDonagh 22 points. Only member of my D in the top 25 over last 7 days is Wideman...

The way San Jose plays and considering how few games he's played Boyle will give you the best quick result. Just a matter of him staying healthy.
He often gets over 5 shots a game and San Jose seems to score at will these days.
Once Burns comes back that'd be a deadly pair of Dmen to have together

Green'd be a good 2nd option. PP QB and all that. Can't go wrong with all the PP time on the point with Ovie. Only hesitation is I don't trust Oates. he dog houses guys often and Green takes risks.

p.s. Gudas got about half of those PIMS in 1 night for swinging his stick at the opponent's bench. Not the in the same category as the other guys you mentioned. And those kind of PIMS get you *less* ice time.

This is usually true, but Gudas gets plenty of ice time (over 22 minutes last game, including a team leading 2:34 on the pp)

    But will it last?
No..really..I'm asking because I don't know that I've watched any Lightning games this year. Who is this kid?

There's a lengthy thread on Gudas that can answer better than I can, but word is that the coach loves him. He's the only dman on PP1 tonight, so it still looks promising.
