Default Studs and Dud for Nov. 4

    Studs

    Dustin Penner:
The pancake lover had a great game last night, contributing in a lot of different categories. He assisted on the first goal (giving him points in three straight), which gave him his plus-one. But he also had six shots, two hits, and was four-for-four in faceoffs, which is outstanding when you consider he’s only won four faceoffs all year.

Frederik Andersen: It seems unfair that Anaheim has so many good goaltenders in their system, while Edmonton has none. Andersen let in only one goal on 33 shots last night, and he now spots a perfect 4-0 in games started this year.

Andrew Ladd: He had a night made for roto or H2H leagues. If your league counts it, he contributed. He finished the night with one goal, one assist, a plus-one, two pims, four shots, one blocked shot, three hits, two takeaways and one giveaway. All that was missing was XXXX.

    Duds

    Chris Kreider:
The Rangers rookie (yes, he still counts as a rookie) contributed nothing, despite getting more than 19 minutes in ice time. All he managed to put up was three hits and a giveaway.

Brandon Mashinter: Even the deepest of leagues wouldn’t have this guy on the roster. I don’t blame him since it’s the coach’s fault, but what’s the point of dressing the kid if you’re not going to play him. Mashinter played just 2:50 last night, the third time in four games he’s played under 4:30. He’s played in the Rangers last three games, and managed to get about 10 minutes of ice time total.

Adam Almquist: Double A played in his first ever NHL games, and decades from now, he’ll be able to tell his grandkids about his first ever NHL game, when he … umm…. was on the ice for two goals against. And that’s about it, because he didn’t record a single stat in almost 16 minutes of ice time. Not a great start.

    Can you believe that…

… Cam Fowler had six blocked shots?
...Keaton Ellerby was the only Jet not to get a shot?
… Pavel Datsyuk went six-for-19 in faceoffs?
… Ryan Getzlaf was even worse, with seven wins in 23 faceoffs?
… No powerplay goals were scored?

Didn't the Jets just claim Ellerby off the waiver wire recently? It must be for his skating ability then

    Nice write up.
