His speed amazed me tonight. I really didn\'t think he was that fast. And to control the puck at that speed is unreal..
what a game!!!!!!
Whatever team lands Hossa this off-season is going to be very, very lucky. He was the best skater by far on either team tonight. His puck strength, shooting and overall game is scary good.

This league is a joke because of the piss poor officiating. It is BRUTAL. I cannot say this enough. I mean, they preach all year about calling the games following the new rules and then they fall back to the way the game was called in the 90\'s. AND THEN they call the penalty on Kennedy (which, dont get me wrong, was a penalty) but there were much more blatant calls to be made on both teams. I say this as unbiased as can be, because I like both teams so please do not take this as a pro-Penguin.
Thats my rant, I appreciate those who read it and I welcome back constructive cristicism, comments and thoughts.
Cheers folks.
Exactly why I said the league is a joke.
My heart was just not in this game after watching the first few periods and seeing the travesty that is supposed to be reffing.
My wife got to hear me say many times that I\'m done watching hockey. It won\'t happen, but frankly it was piss poor again tonight - so much for consistency.
yup, he is just a beast with the puck plain and simple. Sure he will get a lot of coin, but in the cap era, you spend big on four or five guys. I can\'t wait for July 1!
i am not pleased that i missed all that delicious OT action. (ah well, the Strong Beers won their first game of the summer!)
i guess hossa played well? he hadn\'t done much in the parts of the game that i saw (but i am a hossa fan, so it doesn\'t surprise me... just looking for affirmation).
mcgoo and sinbin, nice discussion on the goalie interference. here\'s my black and white (and grey) suggestion to the league.
1. if a player runs into a goalie whose in the crease for ANY reason, penalty, except if...
2. if that player was pushed into the crease by the goalie\'s own teammate, either that player needs a penalty too or no calls for both.
3. if a player and a goalie make contact and the goalie is not in his crease, no penalty.
there! protects the goalies when they\'re in their own little realm and makes them open game when they go play the puck and then try and interfere with forecheckers.
If they do that with goalie interference, you\'re going to see circle creases around the entire net like they have in lacrosse. The goalies already bitched enough about not being able to play the puck in the trapazoid areas. Now if guys are going to go head hunting everytime they go behind the net. There will be plenty of whinning and crying.

haha, keep dreaming crazy
and maple... f that. goalies aren\'t supposed to be a 6th defenseman. good on them if they can do it without getting creamed. this way, you reward teams with hard forechecks who can beat slow dman to the puck in their own zone... = more goals = happy americans = happy bettman = NHL franchise in Thunder Bay.
think longterm, man!

Whitney played 50 minutes last night - what is the record for most minutes in a game?
a lot more than that.
Zubov and Bieksa played 55+ in Game 1 last year.
Campbell played 57 against Dallas this season.
I\'m having difficulty finding out the longest all-time.
well to be fair it wouldn\'t technically be a d-man anymore than it would forward, it would be a goalie...
but among skaters I don\'t know, that\'s a really good trivia question. I guess you\'d hafta look at the ice-time totals, which are unavailable (at least that I could find) for anything but the past few years. Brian Campbell had 56:23 in this years playoffs, I gotta guess thats in the top 5 or 10.
