Radulov for Chara and Boyes

This was a trade that happened in my keeper league (not my team) today and they want to know what people think. I know it\'s tough w/out seeing there teams but pool details are in my sig.

the guy trading rads is getting great value and should be commended for capitalizing on the hype.

that said, i don\'t think the other guy is getting hosed. if rads can become the player that so many of us think he is capable of being, and if he has defensive depth to accomodate the loss of chara, i think he\'ll be happy with this deal.

Boyes/Chara > Radulov

I know there is alot of love for Radulove but Boyes and Chara are multi category studs and with Goals weighted heavily, Boyes will come close to Radulov with Chara making up the difference easily.

Depends on scoring, positions, and \"contracts\".

Boyes did well last year and could keep it up or get better if St. Louis\' young guns step up. Chara will give PIM if he needs them, and can be a high end defender, especially if PIM are rewarded.

Radulov should be a star eventually, and could even bust out big time this year, but if he doesn\'t, and you can\'t hold on to him long enough, the risk that he won\'t do it this year brings his value down.

I\'d say that it looks like a good trade - I\'d consider it from both sides depending on what my needs were.

It\'s a pretty lopsided deal for the guy getting Chara and Boyes. Radulov is still over-hyped, although I have little doubt that he will likely come close to matching that hype.

Likely an overpay for Radulov, but by how much depends on how Boyes does. We have a pretty fair idea what Chara will give us.

Maybe the guy giving up Chara and Boyes is stacked on defence. Tough to be 100% certain without seeing the teams.

Chara is a Dmen who rocks in the multi catergories especially with his PIM and SOG

Boyes is coming into his own and on that Blues team will be a 30+ goal scorer for years to come


as for Rads... i know dobber is really high on him but I\'m not sold quite yet.

I wouldn\'t have give that return for Radulov unless I firmly believed he was a definite 100 point player. At this point, I don\'t firmly believe it, so I wouldn\'t have given away a defensive stud like Chara. They are very difficult to replace.

I agree, as well. Personally, I think Boyes has quite a bit of upside. I\'d trade Rads in a pinch for Boyes/Chara....

There was a lot of talk on this site about Marleau having a bad year because of a shoulder injury he sufferd last year.

Does anyone think that Chara may have a problem with that next year with the injury he got in the playoffs this year? Is it as bad as Marleau\'s?

If it is this trade starts to equal out.

thats a good point, but if I had to bet on it I would say that its probably not serious for chara, his mobility looked somewhat hampered in the playoffs but it didnt seem to affect him too much, he has lots of time to recup...

Marleau was my fantasy bust last year, I had both him and getzlaf and I drafted marleau earlier I\'m hoping if hes traded I can shake the negative experience I had with him last year and draft him at face value

I\'m in the same boat as Sin Bin. As much as I love Rads, I would not hesitate to make this deal in a league like you Smack.

In the short term this deal looks like a steal, but over the years I believe it will become closer ... it all depends when and where Rads hits his ceiling.

It\'s still a lot to give up. Last year Boyes>Radulov... than you throw in a guy like Chara to make up for Rads\' potential.. we\'re talking 50+ pts. good +/- 120+ PIM, 200+ SOG from the back end.. the only way this works out is if Rads lives up to the hype.
