    The Crosby Show
We all knew it was only a matter of time until Sid exploded with some nice point totals, and last night was it. The unlucky victims were the Tampa Bay Lightning, who witnessed Crosby score a hat trick, with two of those goals on the power play, and add a power play assist for a 4-point night! He was also a +1, shot 4 pucks on goal and won 14 faceoffs.

    Backes Stackes Them Up!
Perennial multi-cat stud David Backes had a great night versus this young season's doormat, the New York Rangers, notching 2 goals, including the game winner and adding an assist. Add a +3 rating, 2 PIM, 3 SOG and 8 FOW to that, and you have the total package. Surprisingly, 0 hits though... But then again, I guess the Rangers would have to actually carry the puck for that to happen!

    Rocky Mountain High
The Colorado Avalanche improved to 5-0 after embarrassing the Washington Capitals 5-1 despite being outshot 41-28. Whether it was Semyon Varlamov's 40-save performance, Alex Tanguay's 2 goals, Nathan MacKinnon's 1 goal & 1 assist or Gabriel Landeskog's 2 assists, there is currently lots of fantasy gold on the red-hot Avalanche right now.

    Static Duo?
Washington's normally dynamic pair of Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom put in a pretty lacklustre fantasy performance against the Avalanche last night. Both players went -3 while contributing very little of value fantasy-wise.

    Hammin' it up!
Dan Hamhuis conjures up memories of Steve Smith with a rather careless play that results in the dreaded "own goal". Not exactly a fantasy disaster, Hamhuis went -1 while contributing 5 shots, 2 PIM and 2 hits, but a goof like that has to be mentioned in the "Duds" section. Honourable mention goes to Roberto Luongo.

    Yaku-Not-On-The-Ice-Tonight!
After contributing absolutely nothing to his NHL squad over the first 4 games, and doing the same for all of his fantasy owners, supposed young gun Nail Yakupov was a healthy scratch against the Leafs last night. Unacceptable.
