it is a keeper, but also a cap pool which makes ozzie very valuable, as his gaa is generally among the best in the NHl, and at a VERY low cost. Long term, toews is a good pickup, but in 2 years will be making 8 mill or so, so I\'d have to lose another high priced guy like datsyuk to keep him. I also have the option of Halak instead of Biron, as in our pool, gaa and s% mean more than just wins, as there are bonus\' for having the best in each of those. A goalie does have to play 25 games by the end for thier point to count, though.

Sounds to me like you are stuck on the reasons not to do the deal. Biron was real solid for the Flyers this post season and I expect decent numbers from him again in 08-09. Osgood is cheap, but I really think 08-09 might be his last hurrah in Detroit. After that I think Detroit offers Howard the chance to take the reins and if he doesn\'t then the look towards the FA or trade markets to put a stud in net.
This is a good deal for you, I would do it.

Osgood is great to have but despite his 3 year contract I see Detroit using him as a starter next season but will look to obtaining a true #1 goalie. He has one year left of decent starts.
Toews is the best player in this deal and it is too soon to worry about his future cap hit. This is the best time to own him and when his cap hit increases bump him or trade away someone else.
Biron is under-rated and the Flyers showed how good of a team they really are.

toews wont be making 8+ as even though im a hawks fan i dont think hes gonna be putting up 110-120 points anytime soon...he will probably be around the 6M range for his next contract but if ur league already includes bonuises in the CAP hit then it wont be that much of a difference
