hopefully the Pens get some breaks early on and can make this more of a game, and by extension more of a series

1-0 Wings after a slapper by Stuart from Filppula.

Good tempo and effort by both teams so far. As a Wings fan, I\'m terrified by how Crosby looks tonight.

well halfway thru the 1st...down 1-0, could easily be 3-0 and still without a shot...I expected a lot more intensity

10 minutes in, Gill clipped Scuderi with a high stick. The Pens still don\'t have any shots on goal, although I think they\'re putting in good effort. However, so far it\'s just been Crosby\'s line that has been able to really create something offensively.

2-0, probably by Zetterberg, although Homer could\'ve gotten his stick on it.

Replay shows Homer poked it over the goal line.

I turned it off after the second goal. I\'ll turn it back on in the third period of game 4 so I can watch the cup being handed out for a few minutes - what a snoozefest. Detroit is too good for every team right now.

If only the Flames had played them first round.

First period over, Penguins with 6 shots, none of them 5 on 5. I honestly didn\'t think Detroit would dominate this much. Thought it would be healthy with a great deal of respect for Pittsburgh, but Detroit is like a big red machine.

yeah I don\'t know whats going on with the Pens, its like they don\'t think they\'re in the finals yet and they\'re treating this like a warmup game or something...they need to kick it up 2 or 3 notches and really rattle Osgood to stand a chance

its a shame too cause I expected something more like the Nashville series with this but have yet to see a heartbeat out of the Pens

The Versus people brought up great points during the intermission talk. The way the Detroit dmen are going up and cutting people off while their forwards go back to cover their position is just too suffocating for Pittsburgh. The Pens simply don\'t have an answer to it. Dumping it in hasn\'t worked either. Should they try to move up the neutral zone more as a cohesive unit?

It\'ll be nice to see Zets and Datsyuk get a cup, but frankly, this has been the most boring hockey I\'ve seen since the Dallas-Vancouver series last year.

Makes Minnesota Wild hockey look exciting.

Of course, if it works, it works. Just like in all other sports. I can\'t blame Detroit for not letting Pittsburgh get to the net with a quality shot.

I tend to like my hockey to be offense-heavy though

If anyone saw last Saturday\'s UFC fight between Lyoto Machida and Tito Ortiz, this is it in hockey version. Detroit is Machida\'s stifling defense, and Pittsburgh is Ortiz\'s frustrated, tool-less offensive game.

    Unanimous Decision Detroit 30-27

    Yup.

I predicted DET in 5 only if Pitts got lucky enough to win one game.

I still think that will happen but in the meantime, snooze, somebody tell me when game 5 is about to finish so I can see the presentation.
