Krug or Fowler Repppp

I have Fowler, but am thinking about dropping him for Krug. Am I mad?
Phaneuf, Yandle, Shattenkirk, Myers and Emelin are my other D
I like Fowler a lot. I think he's a top pairing and top pp defensemen and Krug is more of a top 4 and second pp defensemen. If you like Krug just as much then see if you can trade Fowler for a pick or a few picks and then pick Krug up. I wouldn't let Fowler go for free.
Fowler for sure. Chara, Hamilton, and maybe Seidenberg are all ahead of Krug.
Fowler is at the top of Anaheim's D group and will have plenty of opportunity with Souray out now and beyond that.
Right now Krug has yet to show that he is more than a flash in the pan. He also has a full D core ahead of him that has established talent. I don't think his upside is and better than Fowlers, if it even is at all, and he'll have an extremely difficult time trying to get favorable minutes in Boston.

I'd keep Fowler over Krug as well. He has a far greater opportunity to thrive in ANA over Krug in BOS.

many have soured on fowler as he seems to have taken forever to breakout. he had a ton of hype when he came into the league and that puts some expectations on a player. his upside is still a lot higher than krug's imo.

It's also easy to be influenced by Krug's production last night.
Just be cautious because pre-season numbers are always a little skewed.
Last night Krug saw all the PP minutes with no Chara or Hamilton playing.
I think I would also take Fowler without thinking twice. Better pedigree and less competition for offensive minutes. Plus, his numbers can't possibly get any worse.
Fowler is definitely the safer choice here.
I did read that Boston was experimenting in camp with Chara in front of the net on the PP with Krejci and Krug manning the points though, that is something to keep an eye on.
Fowler is overrated. But Krug may be more of a specialist type which can hurt his overall #'s. Most of the ES & PK minutes will be going elsewhere.
You are mad. Well I would take Fowler over Krug. No one knows how Krug will be this year (his first full year), and Fowler is still top PP in Ana. And I think a full training camp with boudreau will help, not that half one last season (stupid lockout)

As a Bruins fan I love Krug and personally I think he sticks on PP1, that said I do like Fowlers potential. The kid was a top 15 pick but was from what I remember projected top 5 that year and slid. Either way if I had to pick one I would take Fowler but not by as much as everyone thinks. Maybe you could package them together and flip them for a 45 pt Dman right now.
Call me crazy, but I would take Krug.
I really like his game and feel he will be the more steady producer throughout his career.

This. I think Krug gets a shot at PP1. It's not just the exhibition season, it's what he showed in the playoffs last year that gets him a longer look. Kid has mad offensive skills, he's just fun-sized is all. If I have to choose one, I take Fowler, but it's closer than some people think.Originally Posted by joeygmoney

Kind of hard to vote against Fowler here, though I'm not much of a Fowler fan.
