I gave up Spezza,Hossa, AND a 1st RDP in this years draft for him and I still think I made out. I would laugh until I pissed myself if I recieved this offer. To have a player get 120+ points in one slot on your roster is worth a lot more than a 60 point defenseman and 80 point foward, IMO

One deal was robbery, and the other one was great for the guy trading Crosby away.

all about timing. At the time I wouldnt see trade 1 as horrible, now obviously yah. I offered lundqvist (early on while hot), jokinen and 4th (only 56 keepers total this year) for crosby (just after injury), schneider and 2nd. Still not sure why he accepted, he even said that he wasnt drunk.

Phaneuf, Kane and his 1st rounder next year?
or

another thing to keep in mind is that he doesn\'t have a very threatening team, so I don\'t see his team haunting me anytime soon.
I understand the whole 120 point man for 1 slot versus these other guys over 2 slots, but we have to consider ALL the stats.

In one keeper league I\'m in, the Crosby owner has him tagged as \"untouchable\". I offered Lecavalier/Radulov and a first pick and he refused swiftly. I also offered Malkin and a first pick this year (3rd overall)and didn\'t budge.
In the other league , I offered 7 very good players and he laughed at me.
In both leagues, in 3 years, he has not changed hands...

Yeah i think the rule of thumb is that if you think you\'re close go ahead and double it. Phaneuf, Kane, Toews, 1st and 2nd (and don\'t feel bad about throwing another name in there).
The reasoning is simple. Players like Crosby, AO, Malkin WILL win you pools. Yes you have to draft weel all the way down, but these guys are gamebreakers. A very shrewd GM may have his hands full against someone who has made less quality moves but has Crosby (or any of the big 3) in his lineup. This is something to consider when looking at what may well be a fairly unthreatening team at this point. The idea is that you get 2 to 3 lopsided deals for a player like this.
To put things in perspective: The lopsided deal I prefacd my rant with might STILL be too little to sway me from moving the Cros.
