Default Completely torn on last keeper spot

Head to head league, counting G, A, +/-, SHP, SOG, BLKS, HITS and for goalies: W, GAA, S%

    Chosen keepers are:
    Stamkos
    Seguin
    Rask
    Letang
    Nash
    Parise

What last two would you keep out of these three:
    Pacioretty
    Perry
    Niemi

Originally, I had pacioretty and perry as my keepers, but now I am on the fence. By looking at the stats rationally, Perry will likely contribute less than Pacioretty, but that is a tough decision to make. Niemi is also a beast, but I feel like of our 8 teams only 8 goalies will be kept in total. So, who would you keep? Pacioretty and Niemi? Perry and Pacioretty? Or Perry and Niemi?

IMO, easily Niemi and coin flip on Max Pac or Perry.

Given that you have Rask and it's only 8 teams, and goalie cats are only 3 out of 10 (which is relatively light), I'd keep Pacioretty and Perry. They'll be damn solid with those stats, probably better than Seguin and possibly even Nash.

This is assuming you start two goalies, in which case you'd draft a good 2nd goalie (and there should be lots to choose from if even say 12 goalies are kept). If you start only 1 goalie it's even more of a no-brainer.

I think I would go with Perry and Niemi as the 2 to keep. Niemi is entering his prime and the Sharks should be a good team again. I veiw this as a bounce back year for Perry, matbe he does not score 50 goals again, but I expect good things from him.

Yeah we start 2 goalies, will have 3 in total. We are expanding the depth this year to start 12 F, 6 D, 2 G, and a 6 player bench. I presume that I can either redraft Niemi or get a goalie of similar calibre; this is an assumption though and could screw me over....

IMO it's Perry and MaxPac. With 70% forward categories and Rask, got keep those multicat studs.

I should point out that we don't count PIMs, which detracts from Perry's value. Pacioretty has put up the same or better stats than Perry in the past two seasons, but has youth on his side. Perry has, of course, pedigree though.

I've been seeing this a lot but fail to understand why. Care to elaborate on your thoughts of Perry bouncing back?

jcairns, I just don't see why you would keep Niemi. Sure you start two goalies, but you could keep Perry and MaxPac and still likely get a 2nd goalie who is somewhere between say 10th best and 15th best in the league. That's not far off from Niemi's value.

Perry is automatic for me. Niemi will probably have elite stats this season but could be on a rebuilding team by next year if the Sharks dont get past the conf finals. I know a lot of people like MaxPax upside but ive never been a fan personally... If it was me trying to win this year, its Perry and Niemi.

id keep perry and max pac. with only eight goalies kept you shouldnt have a hard time drafting another decent netminder.

Yeah, that was whom I had originally decided upon. I started to second doubt my decision due to posts on here, and especially after the guys over at NHL.com's fantasy site rated Niemi as number 2 overall this year - http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=681362. Wishful thinking perhaps, but everyone seems confident he will kill it again.

With being a H2H league, having your stud in Rask, the likelihood of acquiring a decent #2 in the draft, and the variability of a goalie's production on a weekly basis, I would keep Pacioretty and Perry. Even without PIM, both contribute well in many of the cats. Especially as they are good goal scorers, so a solid G/SOG combo is handy to have.

I would go with the two forwards. Keep Pacioretty and Perry while getting a decent G in the draft that will be close to Niemi anyways.
