And the thing is, all the remaining forwards are more of the same to me. Backstrom, Hall, Kane, Getzlaf, Staal, etc. They all can get 90 points but they're probably more like 75-80 points players. Is there a possibility that some of them will be there when I draft again at 21-22?
Would it be insane to go Lundy-Rask and ensure myself of the best goaltending duo of the league?
It's all speculation, obviously. There's only a 1/7 chance that I draft 7th but I guess I like to think about that stuff!
Yes, important to note that you have b2b picks (7 and 8) - 1 if not both, should be a Goalie and Lundy is the surest thing there is, when it comes to Goalies. Chances are though, not all players will pick Forwards so Lundy might go in those first 6 picks.
There is something to be said about having a strong Goalie tandem, therefore Lundy/Rask OR Lundy/Quick (if you don't want both goalies from the same conference) is an option, although with only 7 teams, there will be enough Goalies to go around, in mid - later rounds.
I would recommend some combination of:
- an elite G (Lundqvist, Rask, Quick, Rinne)
- a Tier 1B forward (~75-85 pts) - Backstrom, P Kane, Hall, Toews;
- Karlsson (if available)
...and if one of the 6 you already list in the Top 6 happen to fall to you, all the better!!!
