Rinne, Backstrom, Ovi, Subban
Need to choose 4. Team is in my signature. I won last year without keeping a goalie, but now I have Rinne.

Centers are easier to draft than Lw's and if you are high on Getzlaf better chance on picking him in first round than Nash. Either way you go won't really hurt you. You have to keep the stud goalie.

You need to keep one goalie in a 10 league start 2... Otherwise you are drafting one at the start while others already have a top goalie in their stable, leaving you stuck behind the draft trend.

With PIMs and Hits as categories, I have to go with Getzlaf over Backstrom and Nash if you have to choose one between the three. Getzlaf is a consistent point-per-game player and contributes across all your stat categories. Still, given that you only keep 4 players, there will be a tonne of goalies and d-men in the draft... including Rinne and Subban.
My top four would be Ovechkin, Getzlaf, Backstrom and Nash.
I just think that while everyone in your league will be scrambling to draft point-per-game forwards, you already have 4 on your roster leaving you to snag top goalies and d-men.

Thanks for the advice. I am kinda favoring Getzlaf over Backstrom because he does contribute to more categories. He even had 3 shorties last season. Last year goalies were flying off the board. I was planning on taking Rask, but he was taken the pick before mine, so I picked Weber and waited until the second round ant took Bryz. I went with Bryz and Backstrom most of the season and still ended up winning. Because I won, I have the last pick in every round. So I could keep Rinne to make sure I got a top 5 goalie or try last years route again and go with "O" first and get by with mediocre "G". Keeping 4 is always a tough decision.
thanks again,

I forgot about Rinne's hip surgery. How do you think that will affect his play this year?

OK. I have been advised by a highly regarded Fantasy Blogger who used to (not sure if he still does) have a column on this site, to try and trade Rinne for a draft pick or 2 and keep Nash. Kinda the same strategy I had going into last season. I was at or near the top in all the offensive categories and my goalies were good enough to be middle of the pack. I will have to keep a close eye on the Hip issue if I am not able to trade him. Then I have a major decision on my hands.
thanks
