Are you in the hunt for this year? Buddy is irrelevant here, there's no way you keep him so take him out of the deal and look at it as a very above average arm and a top 5 1st baseman. Also do you guys use a utility?
I personally think its a good 2-4-1 but since I'm greedy I'd try Harper and griffin for prince, Cain, and Gio! I'd even throw in a pick... But that's me...
I'd take that trade for sure, you're getting a ton of value for Harper. You can't go wrong with either Gio or Cain in the deal.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
I don't know. Maybe I overvalue him but I think he is going to be the next special player a la Griffey Jr. This kid has been hyped forever and I can see why.
This year he has 17hrs in just 282 at bats. At the ripe old age of 20. That is incredible production unheard of from any player that young.
Griffey Jr at 20. 22hrs 597 ab's.
Obviously the comparison is very basic as I didn't take any contributing factors as pitchers faced, era, etc, etc but you get my point.
Personally I'd sit back and enjoy the soon to be 50hr seasons and massive average and rbis. There is a reason this gut threw the kitchen sink at you. He sees Harper as special as well.
It's a fair offer but I'd decline it. Why? You really don't need to a small upgrade at 1B, Bundy won't be a keeper for you and you seem stacked in terms of starting staff.
If you take this, the result will be that you have to let some solid keepers go and essentially improve the opposition while only slightly upgrading yourself. Plus, I think Harper is going to be a true 5 tool player in a year or too. I see him as a Barry Bonds style talent (pre-juice), like 30/90/30SB consistently in his prime.

After thinking about it some more, I'd hold onto Harper.

Harper might be special but in my eyes it depends on where you're at right now! If this trade means you've got a better shot at winning it all I say it's worth a shot. Especially if you try my idea to get both Cain and Gio with prince. At his age I'm sure bryce is a stud already but it's all about the $$$. There will be other harpers and trouts. 1 guys won't win you the money but a team full of solid players will.
I would keep Harper. For my opinion, read dongjohnson's post again.

Don't ever take the deal. Bundy is injury plagued. Harper could end up being one of the greatest players in the history of the game. Moving him for an older and somewhat equal batter,a good pitcher, and a risky(with upside) pitching prospect isn't even close for me.
Keep Harper for sure. He's the kind of player you can build your team around.
Thanks boys....sometimes you just need time and some uninvolved opinions to make you step away from the edge.
keeping Harper it is.
