Got a good nucleus now !
Like what you did here, it's a real shame losing Kopitar and taking on Richards, but with those stat categories the overall moves you made are excellent. Got lots younger and added lots of big shooters, and replacement of Fleury with Price/Howard is awesome. Guys like Stastny with your cats are much less valuable. Next step probably to sell Crawford or Howard high for some high scoring D.

I won my league for the first time since i joined approximately 6-7 years ago. I won on a tie breaker. After my win I decided to try and get my favourite players so I made available players I previously would not have considered trading due to my needing them to try and win. Here's my turnover for the last couple of weeks. I had not made a move since last summer due to the lockout and shortened season. I've been a busy little beaver lol.

I'm all about the one year rebuild. It's reasonably easy to accomplish in my league. Everyone's very active.

In:Niemi, Smith, D Sedin, H Sedin, Thorton, Dupuis
I couldn't keep all my guys and I'm happier with my 10 keepers now than I was before hand. Young guys are easy to come by in our league if this doesn't work out.

I have won our league in back-to-back years with great D and goaltending, last year my offense and rookies played a major role. I don't have the rookie power this year so I'm willing to step back a bit and upgrade my rookie pool in hopes of winning in a couple years again.
Have made two moves this year (both with same GM a month apart)
1. Traded Datsyuk and 2013 #32 entry for #8 and #9 entry picks. Our league counts actual salary, not cap hit, so a 37 year old Datsyuk making 9+ was tough to stomach. Love Datsyuk but there's not much of a market in our league for any older players to be traded with good returns.
2. Traded Edler for Parenteau, H Lindholm and #63 entry. Edler has a nice salary for two years if you compare it to contracts signed lately, but I really like the now-plus-future value in this deal.
Will see how the future makes me look... But at least I can have fun picking players!

League details & cats in sig...placed 3rd in my 12 team keeper league this year and have some tough decisions to make even after executing several trades during the year that helped me.

I can only keep 9 and so am still struggling with the last 2-3 spots. Hall, Benn, Duchene, Galchenyuk, Price, OEL, Shatts and Pacioretty are probably locks, but I have Ovechkin, Couture, Bobrovsky, Tarasenko, Doughty and even Phaneuf to consider in our cap structure which is tight.

Geez, those salaries make no sense. Great asset management though.

Kessel ( traded Schneider, Kronwall, Conacher and a 2nd, got a 4th, Lindback and Fowler)
OUT
Backes (traded with Horton for a 1st rounder, Heatley and Purcell, pick was 2nd overall at the time but ended up 8th. Shitty)

I really liked the concept of this thread when I first saw it. But I didn't anticipate that so many teams would have switched 10 or 20 players in the off season. It becomes pretty much impossible from a straight 'in' and 'out' list of that many players to see what happened, what the strategy was, etc.
I'm wondering if people would find it interesting to see a list of the top 3 or 5 moves of the off season (i.e., specific trades, specific drops or claims, specific draft picks), along with a write-up of their strategy/thinking?
As a new comer to fantasy hockey, I'd sure find that very interesting. Just a thought.
