Jered Weaver
Hasn't anyone else noticed how good Weaver has been the last few weeks? A lot of people here proclaimed him dead, even as of last season, but I disagreed, saying he had something left in the tank.
Today he hurled 8 innings of 2 hit ball and walked only one, in a 1-0 shutout win over the (lowly) Twins. And his last 6 starts have been even more telling, as he's allowed 6 ER in his last 41 IP while punching out 37. He's lowered his ERA from 4.65 to 2.98. My prognosis in a long term league is to sell high but keep in mind that he's still only 30. Even though his velocity is down a little bit, he's working to become a more proficient command and control pitcher, and should be valued pretty highly.
