strange contract signing...he is still being paid to be a backup goalie, so either they plan to keep Miller or bring in another higher priced starter, I think

or maybe go after another low priced, young goalie (like Bernier) to form a 1A/1B situation

LOL...frig. Now we have to add Buffalo to the list of Bernier Suitors?

Actually... don't too much mind the thought of that. But with Enroth signed...could be similar to the situation in which Bern would be in if he signed in toronto and Reimer stayed.

Healthy competition is good, however you'd hate to end up with a Vancouver situation or even what LA has now.

Well they already have Matt Hackett from the Pominville deal and he's been fairly successful in his short stints in the show. They might not want to have two young tenders on the big club but no need to give up more assets just to crowd the crease further.

Regardless, I think this is a good "show me" signing along the lines of what Boston did with Rask. If Miller stays this year Enroth has the security of one more season to prove himself once Miller walks / is traded. Its a good signing for Buffalo and puts all of their tenders in a position to play their best in order to secure the starting role.

Miller's got one year left on his contract.
I think they'll let him play it out.

If Buffalo is out of playoff contention in late-February, they might move Miller.
But I do think Buffalo goes Miller/Enroth for the majority of the coming season and allow Hackett to get the majority of starts in the AHL.
