Studs

Tuu-kka! Tuu-kka! Tuu-kka!

The Bruins threw the Pens a Tuukka party in the Eastern Conference Finals. Rask set a Bruins club record for fewest goals allowed in a four game series, a mere two, after his second shutout against Pittsburgh. His shutout Friday night was the bookend as he stoned them in game one. Rask would be the first to tell you it wasn't just him, it was a total team effort, but he still has to stop those shots that get through to him, and he did that exceedingly well. Check out these filthy numbers: GAA-0.44, Save %-.985, two shutouts, and 53 saves on 54 shots in game three.

Horton hears the boos

Well he did in games one and two in Pittsburgh that is. Even though he was held to goose-eggs back home in Boston, his five points in the two games in Pittsburgh, were critical in helping the Bruins drive a stake into the Pens playoff heart.

All he does is score goals

But then again isn't that the whole point of this exercise we call hockey? Yes. Yes it is, and David Krejci learned that lesson quite well. Krejci had four goals for the series, including two and the game winner in game one. Like Horton he was held off the score sheet in the deciding game four shutout, but he more than made his mark in the games prior.

Duds

And you feel shame

This is probably as easy as writing a duds section gets. It can be condensed into one dud, the entire Pens team. Coming into the playoffs, with all their big trade deadline acquisitions, and their undeniable offensive prowess, they were the odds on favorite in the East. They were taken out back and soundly whupped by the Bruins. They battled back some in games three and four, losing both by a single goal each, but the combined 9-1 drubbing they absorbed at home to open the series proved to much to overcome.

Deep thoughts from a shallow mind

-Pascal Dupuis and Chris Kunitz accounted for every single Pens goal in the series, with one each. Let that sink in for a minute.
-Crosby, Malkin, Neal, and Letang all finished with goose-eggs in goals and assists for the series, and were a combined minus-19.
-Adam McQuaid did the honors scoring the lone goal in the series clinching game four shutout.
-Lucic and Jagr each had three points in the series.
-Bergeron and Marchand had four points apiece.
-Big Z is riding a five game pointless streak, and has just one point in the last eight.
