How embarassing would it be to be the organizers for the Memorial Cup in Saskatoon?? The crowds have been VERY weak for every game I have watched.. (Portland vs. Halifax) (Portland vs. London) and (Halifax vs. London)

Such a bummer seeing such a great tournament and the best possible players are there this year(Jones, MacKinnon, and Drouin) and the people just aren't coming out..

They must have jacked the ticket prices so high, that it's keeping the fans from buying.. Or maybe its because the Blades have had 51 days off and their fans believe they don't deserve to be there?? I don't know what it is, but it definitely is a shame..

12 years ago Lorne Molleken(head coach) and the Regina Pats hosted the Memorial Cup.. Looks as though Molleken is going to take another Mulligan.. Ok, pretty cheesy..

Here is the number of fans the rink in Saskatoon holds and how many fans have showed up for each game.. And I'm sure these numbers are a little inflated because if you are watching on tv when they scan the crowd, it definitely doesn't look promising..

Credit Union Center in Saskatoon holds a capacity crowd of: 15,195

Game 1: London vs. Saskatoon 10,203 people
Game 2: Portland vs. Halifax 8,771 people
Game 3: Saskatoon vs. Halifax 8,934 people
Game 4: Portland vs. London 7,575 people
Game 5: Halifax vs. London 9,237 people

Sad. Game 3 is the one that surprises me the most. The home town team playing against the team that just throttled the best team in the West and they only draw 8934. Not good.

    In all fairness:

    London's rink holds: 9000 fans
    Portland's rink holds: 10,407 fans
    Halifax rink holds: 10,500 fans

So 3 of the games would have been pretty much sellouts in London if this was the case, close to 4.. I just thought that Saskatoon was more of a hockey town then the attendance is showing thus far..

But maybe it just looks bad on tv because the rink holds so many fans?? I don't know??

    The Moose are loose baby!!!

Anyone who thinks the unbelievable record they put up this year is a result of playing in the Q might want to rethink that. I doubted it myself but this team trounces all the competition.

People who weren't paying attention will look back on this team in 5 years and marvel.

    Enjoy the show everyone!

They did lose to Saskatoon 5-2. I agree they are the team to beat, but I wouldn't say they trounce "all" the competition..

They should however win this tournament.. They have sooooo much talent, its unreal to watch..

It was nice to finally see some decent secondary scoring from the Moose last night. I think they took advantage of a tired London team, much like Saskatoon did when the Moose faced them after playing the night before. The back to back games are tough when the emotion and energy is so high in every game.

Figure of speech I guess, didnt' think it would warrant an objection but hey, even Rivera blows a save once in a while, even Anderson Silva lost a few fights in his career, even.....well you get the point So yes, the Moose did not trounce All the competition just somewhere in the vicinity of 90% of it.

Moosehead certainly destroy everyone this season, except ... Saskatoon ... But every team as good as they are can lost a game.

I still think Halifax have an unreal depth and certainly benefit having a pause to win the Memorial cup. But anything can happen in one game. I hope they will face Saskatoon again in Finale, and beat them to finnally destroy everyone :P.

    Enjoy the Show !

Makarov has been sensational in this tournament for Saskatoon. I dont think he can carry them to the finals against the Moose but he has certainly earned top goalie marks for the tourney.

I am still scratching my head how this kid went through TWO NHL drafts untouched and undrafted. The fact someone wasnt even willing to take a 7th round flyer on this kid really makes me question the sense of most NHL GMs.
