Encarnacion + picks for Fielder

I drafted a pretty bad team. I already sold my two closers for picks next season (4th rounder and 16th rounder). I've also acquired a 12th and 14th rounder from other trades.

Another manager is offering me his Fielder for Encarnacion and my first round pick. He WILL NOT budge on the pick. And I think it's going to be a high pick, since my team is going to finish badly.

Should I do it? We keep 5. So far, my keepers are Kemp, Kershaw, Encarnacion, and I haven't decided on the others yet. Fielder would definitely be a keeper. Is it worth it? 5 year keeper league.

I have a lot more faith in prince than I do EE! Even though I'm a jays fan... Prince hits for a high avg, lots of power and RBI. I personally would trade EE and a pick for prince, he's a legit top 10ish hitter IMO and they're hard to come by.

i would insist on getting a good pick included in the deal, then i would be happy trading for fielder.

Yeah see if you can get a decent pick back. Any idea what your #1 pick might get him?

Not entirely sure what my pick will net next year, but this year it would've netted guys drafted around pick 50-55. In this league, guys drafted around that number this year were Sale, Mauer, Lawrie, Holliday (a little earlier, by me), Kimbrel, Chapman, Cueto, Gio Gonzalez (although I expect Gio to move up next year).

I agree with what's been said. Get a pick back and I'd be happy with that deal.
