Look for mad points from Jagr to win the Conn Smythe
Digging after Jagr\'s contract info to find out whether he\'s a UFA this summer (see below) I discovered a forgotten fact - and a little known one.
Forgotten - the Caps are still paying for a significant part of his salary (3.46M out of his 8.36M) as per the trade agreement (such agreements are no longer allowed under the new CBA).
Little known - Only the portion the Rangers pay (4.9M) counted against their cap (and Washington\'s portion didn\'t count against either team\'s cap).
My question - Does anyone know of other contracts that are still in effect this year and that are paid for by more than one team?
On Jagr\'s status - Next year was a team and player option; the team chose not to exercise it. Jagr could exercise it if:
¿ If the Rangers win a playoff round this season and Jagr scores 40 goals during the regular season.
¿ If they win a playoff round and he scores 84 points during the regular season.
¿ If he wins the Hart (MVP), Art Ross (scoring title) or Conn Smythe (playoff MVP) trophies.
Of these conditions, only the Conn Smythe could still happen.

correction - the fact about his cap hit was probably only forgotten by me - the numbers in my own file, based on nhlscap.com, accounted for this ...
Crazy - you\'re right, but it won\'t help him if they don\'t win the cup.
