Not to ruin anyone's aspirations of finding a good historical TV program, but I tried to watch episode 4 of "Marco Polo" last night, and kept falling asleep. It may be time to move on to something else. Too bad though, it had promise.

Sounds like "Luther" and "The Fall" are decent shows. Maybe they will be next.

My wife and I have been watching Marco Polo and she really likes it. I'm more lukewarm to the show. We're through episode 4 and I am hoping it picks up.

I have watched "Vikings" and enjoyed it quite a bit. There are some pretty gory scenes, but it is well done. You get a sense of what Viking culture may have been like amongst the violence and exploration. Much faster moving then the tortoise like pace of "Marco Polo".

I just finished the first 3 episodes... brilliant. It definitely moves fast... even faster than Game of Thrones. Loving it so far.

i just watched the first episode of marvel's agent carter. started out pretty slow but i'm hoping it gets better, if it's half as good as agents of shield i'll be happy.

that being said hayley atwell is pretty hot, so worst case i can just stare at her.

Just finished season 1 of Viking... that show is absolutely incredible.

Not quite as complex and rich as Game of Thrones, but it goes down easy and I absolutely love the exploration theme.

Sweet Vikings will be my new show to watch by myself. The fiance and I are watching Mad Men together, but I need a good show to watch on my days off or after I get home from work and she's asleep.

Just finished 2 seasons of Vikings, incredible. One of my fav shows yet.

Need something else now... leaning toward first season of Boardwalk Empire. I don't know why, but I've been reluctant to start that one. Running out of options.

I'm finally watching The Wire now, and I'm on episode 9 of season 1. Pretty solid so far, but it's not in the upper echelon for me yet. I'm expecting it to get better and better.

Yeah it does, I'd say season 3 and 4 were where it really hit it's peak. I mean don't get me wrong it was great throughout, but those seasons were special.

If you like David Simon too, I highly recommend Treme, that's his follow up show, set in New Orleans right after Katrina. It's also really well done and addictive.

The Wire is awesome. As McGoo states, season 3 is where it really begins to hit its stride. \

Caution - season 2 (the sea port / union worker theme) was pretty slow and felt out of place with the main storyline. You'll just have to charge through that season as fast as possible, but the long-term gain is worth it.
