When I watch it, to me at least it's clearly satire. How anyone can believe this is how corp execs behave in the real world is beyond me. Maybe it's cause I'm a business guy. The business aspect of the show is entirely unrealistic - both in terms of the storyline and how the personalities behave. But if you suspend disbelief then it's an entertaining show. It doesn't bother me that all the characters are sadistic... there doesn't always have to be a good guy.
I get the whole satire thing. It just doesn't work for me. Trailer Park Boys is a satire, but there's still some humanity that you care about with the characters. Succession is just painful for me. This is where personal tastes come into play. Even the best stuff isn't going to work for everyone.

"From" Season 2 started on the weekend (MGM+). Love this show and it's filmed 20 mins from my house. My cousin does stunts on this show too.

Thanks for the heads up. Its a strange strategy by this show. S1 is basically all laid out in the trailers and first minutes of the show, yet it still managed to keep me intrigued. I just hope they go somewhere with the premise, not just use it for a background for their self inflicted dramas.

I watched Beef on Netflix. Acting 10/10. Cinematography 10/10. Story....6.5/10.

The ratings are huge on this show, and it's coming from the new juggernaught production team that is behind Euphoria. But man, this was an odd show. So weird lol. First half of the season looked like it was going to develop into a really funny chaotic show, second half of the season turned into a show that looked like it emphasized the underlining stuff cinephiles love.

I would suggest it, if you are into the "other stuff" when it comes to TV/movies. However, if you just like good writing, straight road stuff, this isn't for you.

The ending was so not what I was expecting when I looked back at the 1st episode. It was so weird lol.

I've gotta disagree. I think this show was a masterpiece. Unlike anything I've ever seen.

My only criticism of the show is that the final episode felt like it should have been the 2nd last episode. The pacing was just really odd, but I'm sure there's some good reasoning behind it. Then to have no real close to it, I dunno. Felt like it was left open, but that could have been the goal.

I feel like it could relate to 2nd generation Asian-Americans hugely though.

While I have enjoyed Succession, I agree with Steve here about not caring about and actively disliking most of the characters on Succession. This definitely makes me feel less for the show overall.

Finished Rabbit Hole last night and the final episode did not disappoint. Loved this show.

Just finished season 1 of Slow Horses on Apple TV.
Season 1 is adapted from Mick Herron’s Slough House series. 1st book titled “Slow Horses”.
Season 2 is adapted from the 2nd book in the series “Dead Lions”.

The gist is Mi5 agents who have screwed up in the field are moved to Slough House. Given mundane tasks in hopes that they will quit Mi5. They are no longer involved in field ops. Season 1 has the agents of Slough House referred to as Slow Horses finding themselves in an active op.

The book series is excellent. Season 1 of the series was very well done. 6 episodes a season. Easy to binge watch.
Gay Oldman as Jackson Lamb and Jack Lowden as River Cartwright extremely well cast in the two leading roles. Highly recommended. Cheers

    Nice review, Grapes.
I may give this one a try based on your summary.
I saw something else about the British mi6 minor-league unit about 5-10 years ago.
Can't remember what it was called... but it was well done and I enjoyed it.

Been watching "Drops of God" on Apple TV - just about passed on it due to subtitles but its actually really good - especially if you have any interest in wine. I recommend giving it a chance.
