Made this deal towards the deadline last year while the other GM had no FA moves left and was worried that he wouldn\'t be able to get the FAs he wanted in the offseason:

I gave: A. Kotstitsyn (picked up from the waiver wire)
    I got: Phaneuf and a 2nd rounder

Like a couple guys have said, it\'s all about circumstance. The other GM had an older team, wanted to get younger, and thought he might miss out on some of the youngsters in the offseason.
Full Keeper Team, straight points, no PIMs:
    C Under construction
    LW Under construction
    RW Under construction
    D Under construction
    G Under construction
    Farm Under construction

Doesn\'t make sense to give up the best young D out there.

    Good ones guys.

Here\'s a deal I\'m happy with. I made a trade involving a couple of tier 2 players for a couple of tier 2 players with slight edge to him ;here\'s the clincher I also traded my 2008 2nd round pick for his 2008 1st pick who became the Stamkos pick. 1 month later , same type of trade and I got his 1 pick in 2009. He will likely be bottom 3 with a good lottery chance at Tavares (40%).

Also , I could not believe I got Malkin at the initial draft when I was picking dead last in 12 th position...I will never let them forget that one. :-)

    Nicely done poolsharks.

I got Malkin in the 3rd round (17th overall in a 6GM Keeper) I started the goalie rush in round 2 and Malkin fell into my arms. Malkin\'s value was lucky low enough to start the season. Funny how he rocketed ahead of guys like JT, Heatley, Lecalvier, Spezza, Hossa, Iggy, Kovi, ect.

    Its all about timing.

Good trade back then if u were a GM going for the win.

Naslund was a top 5 pick for forwards a few years ago.

    timing...

traded alffy and ward for heatley.

only 7 keepers so ward wont be one of his but he was short in net and trying to push for the win. I didnt have a chance so for me it ended up being alffy for heatley.

still no where near a fleecing. looks like a fair trade to me, if not you getting ripped off.

I only made two trades this year.

I traded Tom Preissing for Paul Ranger and a developmental pick. Two months later Tom Preissing was available in our league on waivers.

The draft pick is for this fall. I can hardly wait to use that pick.

The second trade was letting go of PM Bouchard and getting Peter Mueller on a long term contract. Next year I think this trade will look quite lobsided.

In a season where there was no chance of contending and the trade for next season looks like heatley for alfy i\'ll take heatley. btw nice trade esp if you can keep all, solid young potential.

    Not the hugest fleecing but...

My: Steve Bernier, Travis Zajac, 1st tound pick (4th overall)

    for

    His: Patrick OSullivan, Kyle Turris.

The pick will likely turn into a rookie long-term defensive project, so I think I got a wicked deal as we all know we share the love for Osulli and Turris on this forum.

    I got an \"A\" and \"A+\" player for 2 \"B\" players and a ? pick.
