I would keep McCann on your roster and drop Jaso. Carter will give you power, but Buck will probably have the better overall numbers.
In short, go with McCann and Buck.
I just grabbed McCann off waivers, but since my league has no bench and only 2 DL slots, I need to figure out which injured player should be on my active roster for the time being.
We're a standard roto league (HR, RBI, R, SB, AVG)
I could drop Chris Carter, put Lawrie into the CI slot and leave McCann on the DL.
Or, I could drop one of Buck or Jaso and plug McCann into the C slot, leaving Lawrie on the DL.
I guess my question is:
Lawrie penciled to come back in 2 weeks. McCann in about a month. Will I get more production out of Buck or Jaso over the next month or Carter over the next 2 weeks? And if the recommendation is to drop a C, which one?
C - John Buck
C - John Jaso
1B - Justin Morneau
2B - Howie Kendrick
3B - Jedd Gyorko
SS - Jose Reyes
MI - Jed Lowrie
CI - Chris Carter
OF - Matt Kemp
OF - BJ Upton
OF - Melky Cabrera
OF - Josh Willingham
OF - Angel Pagan
Util - Dexter Fowler
DL - David Ortiz, Brett Lawrie
BN - Brian McCann --- this is an illegal roster so I need to drop someone

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
Does anyone else comment around here? I should just email you directly...
thanks for your help. I have until midnight to make a decision.
Not sure which way to go yet.
I've gotta agree with Mac here and say drop jaso and just plug McCann into your extra C slot.
We're not concerned that Carter has started the year 0 for 9 with 6 Ks?
I wouldn't be too concerned about that yet. I would think that most of his team has probably started 0-9 with 6Ks with the pitching they have seen!
Ha, good point! Ogando has 10 Ks through 6 IP today.
Yu had 14 and Harrison had 9 so they're all off to a rough start facing some great young arms!
One quick question - is Buck still a better option than Castillo in Chicago?
To be totally honest I think all 3 are kinda in the category of "not very good" fantasy options... Looking at ranks and projections castillo is the best of the 3 but you could almost flip a coin... Just hope for a good, speedy recovery from mccan!
