I realize he doesn\'t have much fantasy significance (if any!), but he blocked an Ovechkin shot near the end of the game and was down and out. I thought nothing of it, until I saw this:

Apparently, he was taken to the hospital and they\'re saying he might lose a testicle. :blink:

just to clarify, it was mike green, whose shot busted his nut, and to add to the fun he busted my nut by scoring seconds later to tie the game!!!

Was there and it looked like it hit him on the torso and when I read this when I got home I was in shock. NO ONE deserves that fate.

The true tragedy is the refs did not blow play dead and essentially gave the Caps a 5 on 3 and the tying goal.....

If I was Thor and had lost a ball b/c I didn\'t get to the hospital fast enough I\'d be suing the **** out everyone in site for not blowing the play dead when I was hurt and forcing me to writhe on the ice in clear pain for over a minute before I needed assistance off the ice and to the locker room. I am all for letting play go but they were wrong there, very wrong. If Ovie had taken the shot fine, but they moved the puck and play to the other side and took their time with the two man advantage cashed in.

I know the refs want to avoid the shame of watching some rat skate off in that instance after blowing the whistle, but Thor is not that player and is about as far from a diver as they come.

On a side note

That is unbelievable. I think it\'s going to be OK, he is just in serious throbbing pain. They said everything is fine, medically, so I dont think testicle removal is necessary.

Someone probably threw that idea out there with no medical justification, and then Holmgren was quoting that. Boom. Now you have an article.

I would love to see Thoresen play, but I think he should take the day off. God knows he earned it. And yes, a whistle would have been very nice.
