how exactly is Perez an upgrade over Mauer?
I'd take Perez around 130-140th. Catching is extremely deep this year.
Going into our second year as a keeper league and i chose not to keep Mauer. I fell short of winning it all last year because of lack of power on my roster. That and hoarding young pitching studs on my bench waiting for there debut into the majors, thus my lead in the wins category diminished. I wouldn't be relying on Perez for power but, he would be an upgrade to Mauer. At what round would you guys tend to draft a player like this.
My team currently looks like this:
24 man Roster: 6 Bench spots : R,RBI,HR,SB,AVG,OPS - W,SV,K,Hlds,ERA, WHIP

Thanks for the reply
Well, Mauer could see limited appearance behind the plate. He seems to be playing a lot more 1st base and it would suck to lose his eligibility there. He bats for avg, his power is basically non existent and hes injury prone. Perez is arguably a top ten, maybe even top five catcher.
I think Mauer will probably finish ahead of Perez this year, but I'm a huge Sal believer anyway. You can snag him late.

His current ADP is 147, going as early as 107 and as late as 176 - in mock draft according to mockdraftcentral, so use that as your baseline.
Mauer will post a good average, but doesn't provide much else in your format.
