Chinny how did you come up with these numbers? Do you have a program or did you make up the formula\'s yourself?

Can i say both?

We (Comish and I) made up the formula that is based on the stats we are using and i wrote a program to apply that to all of the players that played last season and also got their stats from previous years and this is what was spit out.

Would be nice if you could provide all the GM\'s with the numbers before the draft. Will help out those like myself who have never done a pool with a salary cap.

Yeah of course, every GM will get a copy of everyones salary that played a game last year, anyone not on the list is the league player min of $5.
Once it is finallized of course.

I also did a mock draft based on the salary rankings and the average team salary is $908, so year 1 shoudl be easy to stay under the cap, as the league moves on and rookies develop more you migth have to do some wiggling, unless your top players drop enought that you don\'t have to worry about it.

This is also why i would love to see a Soft Cap as The Comish calls it, at the draft we all get $1000, during the year i can trade my rookies or prospects for vets with a higher salary and really make a run for the title, but then come next draft i will have to dismantle.

Do you really want to see the crap we have to draft at the end?
NOTE
The bottom end players will most likely be filled with prospects, for my purpose it had to be players that played a game last year.

NOTE 2
I set up the mock draft to have teams draft between 2-4 goalies, don\'t ask me which teams got which and i also had it select the highest ranked player available but also made it so if it was between a player and a goalie the goalie got picked.

Position requirements may not be met either, i only have this sorted as F/D as 1 and G as another.

I have also never been in a salary cap league but thought i would work towards what a cap might look like for Comish and some where along the way i got pulled into liking it!
