WSH in the playoffs!!

Simply amazing.

What a turn around. They were 13th or 14th out of 15 teams in the East when they fired Hanlon.

They turn it around after that with a winning streak that is second only to pittsburgh and squeak in into the playoffs.

They ARE a legitimate team that shouldn\'t be underestimated.

Perhaps their lack of playoff experience might hurt them and the fact that they have been on a high for far too long that a lull might happen.

Still, it\'s a good thing for the NHL and I hope they make it to the second round.

As it stands, they will play Ott if Phi loses tomorrow or Phi if they win.

I like their chances against those teams for sure.

No one in their right mind expects Washington to contend this year, but the experience that young team will get from this will be invaluable.

I simply love it that they made it into the playoffs. Mainly because I think they\'re a damn fun team to watch, but also because this pretty much seals the deal for Ovechkin getting the Hart, which he would\'ve deserved even if they hadn\'t have made the playoffs.

I dont think they were that legitimate of a team until the trade deadline when they added Huet. Ovechkin has been doing his thing all year long, but once Huet came over, they finally had someone who could stop some pucks. Ollie the goalie is and has been a joke for a long time now. I\'ve been saying for years they will never win anything as long as he is in net for them. Maybe someone finally heard me because Huet was the missing piece to get them in this year. Congrats all around to Wash.

Wsh should take this series. They have so much energy and passion and knowing that they have a goalie who can actually stop the puck is obviously a huge upside for them. And Philly takes too many dumb penalties.

I could see Phx being the Wsh of next year IMO.
