Reading into what he had to say in the local Province Newspaper this am...it sounds like it could still be awhile. Sounds like the wrist still nagging and he complains of feeling like he has no power in the shoulder.

Not surprising, I didn't expect him back for awhile despite the reports that he 'looked good' at practice. The guy had a shoulder and a wrist injury on the same arm. It was pretty obvious his strength wouldn't be there lol.

Yeah, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, it wouldn't totally shock me if he played next game. Recall, he's the player who wanted the training staff to amputate his broken finger so he could play more in the playoffs against Dallas year's back.

Ryan Kesler (shoulder/wrist) was practicing faceoffs on Monday.
Kesler continues to get closer to returning to action but there is still no timetable for his return. "Obviously it's inching closer," Kesler said. "There is still no timeline. It's been very exciting being with the guys and being involved again. I'm happy where I'm at. Shooting is not a problem. I just think (it's a matter of) feeling comfortable out there and just being confident. When I'm ready, I'll let them know." If he is still available in your pool, grab him and stash him if you can.

Sounds like there's a good chance, if all goes well, Ryan Kesler plays for VAN tomorrow night vs DAL.

Excellent news. Man I can't get over how much this guy's stock has dropped this year. In my one-year H2H league a manager outright dropped him and I snagged him of the WW even though I didn't have an open IR slot and it meant playing a D-man short for a couple of weeks.

I can't wait for him to get back and light it up. Plus I think he will end up getting Kassian going again too
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

Tell me about ii!......this guy fell RIDUCULOUSLY LOW in drafts this year. I managed to steal Kesler in the 13th round in the inaugeral draft for our KEEPER league (which also has 2 IR slots)......was already extremely happy about this as Kesler will arguably be my 2nd or 3rd best skater. Now that he is coming back after only missing 1/4 of the season is just icing on the cake.

I just hope that he is really ready to go and isn't putting himself at risk, as I need this guy for the long term.

He's injury prone and didn't do well last year. In a 1 year league its very easy to see someone dropping him, especially if they need a IR spot. I'd be surprised if he produced at a 60pt pace this season. He's really not that valuable in points only leagues. He's much more valuable in multicat leagues that count FOW.

Injury prone? The guy is a warrior, and in the last 5 seasons has played 77, 82, 82, 82, and 80 games. The only time he has missed significant time with an injury, or play less than 77 games, was in 06-07. This guy is far from a bandaid-boy and calling him injury prone is not at all accurate. This guy also has 70+ point potential in any given year, so saying that he isn't valuable in points-only leagues isn't terribly accurate either. Especially considering he will log significant PP time on a strong Vancouver team.

This guy should be owned in all leagues as long as he is playing. In multi-cat leagues such as mine that counts hits, PIM, sog, +/-, hits, shp, this guy could very easily be a top-25 player after a couple of weeks for him to get into game-shape.

For anyone wondering how Kes has looked tonight...awesome! A couple of shots off the bar, a couple of missed one timers on the PP...buy low? Go for it.

Watching the game too....he looks great. Agressive and very physical.....skating well and throwing his body around. 1 A, 4 hits, 4 sog and 2 BS already. Doesn't look tentative or like he's shielding a limb that isn't fully healed. Excited to have this guy on my keeper team, he's a multi-cat stud.

I think he may have made the right decision in waiting until 100% prior to return... that way he can unleash his style of game without inhibition.

I drafted him in second round... the lockout gave me the thought to do so... I didn't think it would take thiss long to return, but because of the lockout, he missed less than a month of the season.

Having lost Karlsson the day before they announced Kesler' return, I'm feeling much better now. THANK YOU RYAN!!
