Michalek has put up 35, 66, and 48pts so far in his first 3 full seasons. Although he\'s taken a step back this year, he may still get to 60 pts. (12 pts. in 10 games isn\'t too much of a stretch) but the entire SJ team has struggled offensively this year.
However, there are a few positives to be taken away from this year. First off, he\'s shooting the puck more.. already 214 SOG, compared to 191 all of last year. 23 goals, compared to 26 last year, so he should set a new career high. One of the main reason his pts. are down are because of assists, and that may be directly related to Cheechoo only putting up 22 goals so far this year (compared to 37 last year).
Next year will be his 4th NHL season, and it\'s been said usually that 4th year is a breakout year. Playing with Jumbo Joe, and pretty much being a lock on his wing will definately inflate his upside for the years to come.
Also, if SJ can resign Campbell.. I think it will make their PP one of the best in the league and that will result to more points as well.
Next year I wouldn\'t be surprised to see 75-80 pts., 80-85 the following year, with a few more years of 85 pts. after that. He will be a ppg player and I think he might flirt with 90-95 pts. a year or two in the next 5. SJ has a great look for the future, they just have to start putting the puck in the net the way they can.
Hopefully this helps some. Cheers!!
