To succeed in the All-Star game after being voted in by a bunch of juveniles over other players who were undoubtedly much more qualified is not karma - it's anti-karma. I don't think you grasp the concept.

But this thread isn't the place to hash this out. It's already been made perfectly clear that this topic wears people out. Why don't you take the hint?

Deadpool was excellent saw it in theatres, even the girlfriend liked it and I usually cant get her out of the house for anything Marvel related

    Black Mass -
Just awful awful movie, could not have been more boring IMO

    Nightcrawler -
Caught it on Netflix and I thought it was great, usually not a huge Gyllenhall fan (hes just ok) but this was a good performance and interesting different movie

Whiplash - Kind of expected a boring movie, I mean drumming? Definitely wrong, movie was engaging with amazing performances from both Teller and Simmonds

The Visit - Girlfriend wanted to watch a scary movie, it was not scary, it is scary that this movie exists. Tuuurrrible

Spectre - Pretty good. Not on par with Casino Royale or Skyfall, but solid. 7/10
Winter's Tale - It's hard to fathom who this movie is for. The plot is so silly that it seems made for kids, but it's not really a kid's movie. The parts where I was supposed to feel emotion, I felt nothing. Also, not enough Jennifer Connelly. 2/10
The Lady in the Van - Great movie. Very touching and entertaining, and the fact that it's based on a true story is fascinating. 8/10

A little long but the right idea.

I'm looking forward to the film when it comes out. He basically lived the dream and it will be fun to see it all over again on the big screen.

    Recently viewed:

The Rainmaker--- Enjoyed this, solid 90s courtroom drama. 7.5/10

Straight Outta Compton-- Loved this movie. Lots of fun to watch, great acting, very well-paced and a great story. 9/10

Bridge of Spies--- Good movie, but I expected it to be more engaging. Felt like I was watching the Bridge of Naps and when a movie drags it ruins it for me. 5.5/10

Interesting, maybe the title could be 'Instant Anti-Karma: The People's MVP'

But that doesn't sound as Disney, but could work

My guess is they'll do a good job of the movie and we'll learn some things we didn't know about the player and the league.

Add me to the pile of people who thought Spectre was terrible.

James Bond on his knees begging pathetically... there's something I'll never be able to unwatch

    I can only remember 4 ....

Cabin in the Woods - had never seen it but I guess it was ok. Unfortunately I knew the concept before going in because from what I remember the trailers didn't really show that behind the scenes side of it.

Spectre - yes...just another action movie that didn't really do much for me.

Revenant - wow. I loved it. I'm a sucker for the tracking shots though. I unfortunately watched it on my laptop vs in the theatre but I still found it very griping. Start to finish.

Supermensch - Mike Myers produced documentary on a famous talent manager Shep Gordon....LITERALLY stumbled into millions of dollars. A pretty crazy story about a guy who started as a lucky manager for Alice Cooper and went on to work with SO many celebrities.....no idea how he's alive given all the drugs they did.

How to Be Single. My wife wanted to see it, so we went. Theatre was packed, but there maybe 10 guys total. My wife really liked it. I thought it was okay. Not the normal happy-ever-after ending. But it wasn't as funny as I thought. I'd give it about 4 or 5 out of 10. My wife says 8 out of 10.

Weird thing before the movie began though. There were a bunch of previews. One for a Jennifer Aniston movie. Then one for a Melissa McCarthy movie. I think there was one for Julia Roberts. And then the last preview was for some type of horror movie. Which really did not belong with the rest. It seemed really out of place.

I just saw Star Wars on Monday night at the local movie tavern theater.
That's how busy I've been... but I loved it... a great tribute to the originally trilogy.
Just me, the movie theater, and an Oreo cookie milkshake.
    $20 well spent.
    That's all.

I still (OF ALL PEOPLE) haven't seen it....maybe march break if it's playing ..DVD out early april I heard

Saw Spotlight the other night - solid but nothing overwhelmingly good. swift pace, lots of dialogue - solid acting but no one imo stood out ......ending could have used a little more edge in seeing the accused priests reaction to their upcoming demise....solid if you're into journalism and law.....don't watch for any action scenes as there aren't any......8.5/10 one time watch , but time went quickly on this one

This wasn't "dip-shitty" at all. I agree 100%. If I see another post about the John Scott story my head will explode. It absolutely wears me out. This thread is not supposed to be about John Scott so I for one and glad that worthless topic was squashed as effectively as it was.

    BACK TO THE THREAD:

Spotlight: 9/10, really enjoyed this movie, but if it weren't for the interesting subject matter/storyline, it would've been a little slow i think
The Intern: 7.5/10, feel good movie, De Niro was pretty funny in it

    Next flick on deck: Room

Hateful 8 - I was impressed. Man does it ever go full Tarantino after the intermission though. And that's twice now he's made me laugh involuntarily at someone's head getting shot off.

Star Wars - loved it; basically exactly what I was hoping for.

Spectre - I liked it; I can understand why some people didn't because it was a pretty big change from the approach they took to the other Craig Bond films. But it was a throwback to the Moore-era silliness of the franchise and I have always appreciated the campier Bond films of the 60s and 70s.

Ant Man - OK I didn't give this one a fair shake. I was playing video games at the same time. The stuff I did watch of it looked fun though.

Inside Out - Shut up, I have a toddler OK? It's not bad as far as kids animation goes. It's not something I'm going to watch on my own though.
