    Whiplash.

If you like jazz, it's a must see. Hell, even if you don't like jazz it was engrossing. I was glued to it the whole time.

Saw it last week. It's one of those independent fly-under-the-radar movies that most people have never heard of. I never would've bothered watching it on my own, but my gf somehow found it and forced me.

My reaction is the same as yours - it was very intense. And I don't even know shit all about jazz or playing in a band...

    'LUCY'.

-Its about a new drug produced in Taipei and the bad guys use human mules in a not so normal fashion, to introduce it to the world. Intense and gruesome and entertaining. Worth the time. 7/10.

    'Man of the Year'.

-Seen this for the 1st time this weekend. Great cast including Robin Williams and Christopher Walken. You just have to give it about 30 minutes before it really gets your attention. 7/10

    In reverse order:

Big Hero 6: ok kids flick with some high brow for the adults 6.5/10
Dumb and Dumber To: not as good as the first. Un-rate-able.
The Theory of Everything: Semi-fiction story of Stephen Hawking. Great acting by the guy being Stephen 7.5/10
Birdman: Elitist, artsy, comedy flick about actors acting. Pretty good if you like dry humour. 7/10
Two Days, One Night: French drama about a woman trying to get her job back after being laid off so the rest of the company can get a raise. Sounds boring because it was. 5/10

"Annabelle"... very boring and unoriginal. No surprises or twists. Very linear plot. Similar music to "Insidious" which I believe was done by the same people. The demon in "Annabelle" was also very similar to the demon in "Insidious". WHY CAN'T WE SEE THE DOLL DO SOMETHING?? It just sits there and looks ugly, yet it's scary? This film epitomizies why horror films suck nowadays. VERY disappointing.

Thanks bud - never heard of this one before (because it was limited release), but looked it up based on your post and it turned out to be awesome.

Love finding these hidden gems in these threads...

Fury. 9/10 I really liked this one. A little inaccurate in spots...Sherman vs Tiger tank...but all in all, good watch. kept my attention throughout. tense ending.

Nightcrawler. 8/10. another good one. Ending could have been a little more gripping. Speeds along quickly.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

A lot of good critic reviews on this one, but I was falling asleep while watching it. It's a unique and original type of movie, but I don't think that necessarily makes it good.

Curious as to what you mean be inaccurate in the Sherman vs Tiger, according to a guy who was in a Sherman in the war it was the one of the most accurate bits:

    http://www.theguardian.com/film/film...dict-realistic

Incidentally, that was a real, working WWII Tiger tank in the movie... the last functioning one left apparently.

Anyone see Babadook yet? Where's horrorfan?? I'm gonna check this one out over the weekend.

Hey, blayze, glad you liked Winter's Bone. I like movies that I can get lost in, and that's definitely one.

I thought it was a kids movie, it isn't. Was kind of disturbing but I found the kids to be annoying. Seems like people either love it or hate it.

Might just be a fluke but I watched to very similar thriller/horrors in two nights:
The Voices - Ryan Reynolds as a delusional half-wit.
Let's Kill Ward's Wife - she is a bitch, everyone wants her dead.

Also if you like Zombie movies:
Wyrmwood is a pretty good B flick. Lots of exploding heads and fake blood. Has some original ideas.
