watched Blended & American Hustle this week

Blended was bleh. Worse than "Just go with It", wife liked it though.

I enjoyed American Hustle, although it was a bit weird.

Whole month of October free movies at Redbox on Thursdays. gonna be a good month for movies

Edge of Tomorrow - 9/10 - I loved this movie. Loved the premise, the action, the sci-fi, the Tom Cruise. but I'm nerdy like that. Particularly liked the aliens. I recommend for sure.

Just watched Gone Girl yesterday... better than I expected. Pretty twisted and leaves you with that strange "wtf was that?" feeling, but original and entertaining.

Wife & I might go catch this in the theaters one of next two weekends.
We both read the book, it was really good.
    She loved the end.
I liked the end, but thought it could've been better.
I had heard that the movie might change the end... since there was some (like me) that thought the end was lacking.
(sounds like end was a bit lacking - I'm wondering if they stayed with the original book ending)

Couple new ones for me as well:

Transformers extinction or whatever, 3/10, pretty gawdawful
Chef - 8/10 surprisingly good movie, and has a real feel for what that industry is probably like

They probably kept the ending... let's just say things were left unsettled.

Yup... that sounds like the book.
Women seem OK with that ending.
    Men (me) do not.

The book is written by a woman, so remember that it's just from the "other" perspective.
(I mean... could you really see yourself doing same thing?... nuh-unh... speaking as if I know the ending, via book)

Finally got around to watching Silver Linings Playbook. Very good movie- greatly enjoyed it.

    3.5 stars
    9/10

And I felt the same way about Catherine in Farewell to Arms. I understand the foreshadowing and the title and all that but it still pissed me off.

I would give transformers a 5/10 for an actual movie, but because it’s a transformers movie and it’s only made for action and special effects, it bumps it up to a 7.5/10 for me.

Chef was a great “easy to watch” movie. I saw it on my flight back from paris and it was a great movie to watch then. I fell asleep for a bit and didn’t miss much of the plot line actually. But it did show how it must be for a chef to battle the restaurant manager for creative freedom, and what it does to one’s creativity.

I second this. It was a thoroughly enjoyable film, and that's coming from someone who usually passes on Tom Cruise movies.

The next big film for me will be Interstellar. I can't wait!

YES! I cannot wait for this movie to come out. It will be so good. I love Christopher Nolan movies. I haven't seen a bad movie from him, Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception... so freakin good. Insomnia was great too with Robin Williams and Al Pacino!

Silver Lining was just an excellent movie all around. I love me some Jennifer Lawrence and she was awesome in it.

I loved Inception, but I still have never seen the Dark Knight movies. I'm so done with superhero movies. I'll have to check out Insomnia.

Didn't Chris Nolan also make Memento? That's such a fantastic movie!

You've never seen the Dark Night?

I am definitely not a superhero movie guy and I think that comic books are pretty lame overall, but the Dark Knight was an amazing movie. Heath Ledger was fantastic as was the directing. It has a very different feel than the other Batman movies. It's in my top 5 movie list of all time. Expect to be bored and then watch it.
