Trading Crosby... Would You?
Hey guys.. I've been getting response on trades from GM's that include a deal for Crosby. Not only because everyone would like to have him but because he may finally be healthy again.. Who knows.. I aquired him this summer in a trade. (MY Perry, Getzlaf & 1st round pick for HIS Crosby, Backstrom & 2nd round pick).
I've been getting some pretty good offers.. I'm interested in trading him because of his value and potential injury status but so tempted to keep him.. He is the best player in the game right now and can surley rack up the points..
What would you do?

Points only Crosby is far far far and away the best option in the NHL. He could literally miss half the season and still put up 80 points.
In a healthy season, the sky is the limit. He is well worth the risk unless the return is just too hard to ignore. Then again, if he sustains another concussion his value could drop significantly. I would be inclined to roll the dice, but there's no harm in shopping the guy and gauging possible returns.

It's always not a bad idea to toss a few feelers out there and if it's not something significant in return then pass...
If you can get 2 point-per-gamers back for Crosby then you've made out on top and rid yourself of a potential disaster.

hmmmm it's a solid offer but I would pass, based on your team. You're set a F, adding a Kessel and Kane doesn't really upgrade your team. What I would look for is probably a upgrade on D. Your forwards are set, but your D could use a bit of work, I'd probably ask for a top-tiered D plus a Kane/Kessel type that way you have a solid upgrade.
Crosby 110 + Granlund 45 = 155
Kane 75 + Kessel 80 =155
Essentially a wash, but Granlund has a better chance of tallying more than 45, whereas Kane and Kessel are pretty much at their upper limit.

Another question, whats on the WW? For a 10 teamer you seemed to have gone very rookie heavy...
Generally speaking rookies tally around the 45-55 point range, but not much more. So having Huberdeau, Granlund, Tarasenko and Baertschi seems a bit overkill...

That's still a trade I would take any day of the week, especially in points only formats. You basically traded two multi-cat guys for two point monsters. Still a relative coup in my book.

I'd entertain offers BUT it would take a crap load in return for me to unload #87. Keep Crosby and enjoy the ride. Once he's gone, you'll likely never get him back....
That Crosby deal for Perry and Getz was highway robbery IMO - good job.

You made out like a bandit getting Crosby AND Backstrom.
People are going to try and buy low on Sid because they'll say "What if he can't stay healthy"? IMO the lockout will help Crosby get fully healthy and he will be determined to have a huge year.
Personally, I'd have a really tough time trading Crosby unless I was getting something special back (Claude Giroux, Evgeni Malkin and Steven Stamkos).
