    Default Matt Forte

Forte left tonight's game against Green Bay with an ankle injury, his return to the game is being called "doubtful."

Yeah, i'm sure that and other colorful words were used. If it's any consolation, he walked under his own power without a limp - adrenaline or it's not that bad. He didn'glt go back in the game because he couldn't cut in it. From the replay, it looked like a sprain. But we'll have to go on the x-ray results when made public.

Great way to top off my decision to play Cutler, Forte and Marshall this week. So much for this matchup!

Hopefully he's not injured too badly. I could see them not bringing him back too soon with the pretty strong play from Bush so far this season.

I think every fantasy football owner that didn't have a player named Michael Bush or Mason Crosby (or Tim Masthay!!!) was frustrated with last night's game.
As an owner of Forte (one league) & Rodgers/Jennings (another league)... I was actually happy I didn't own more Bears or Packers

Sounds like it could be a high ankle sprain and, if so, could be out for at least a few weeks.

Isn't the high ankle sprain more of the 4-6 week injury?

High ankle sprains are significant injuries for a RB. Even after it "heals", it can be months before the player recovers fully from the injury, it's the kind of injury that just lingers and greatly impacts his ability to perform. It does depend on severity (some high ankle sprains are worse than others), but assuming it's even just moderate, my guess is that Forte will be impacted by it for 2-3 months easy, even if he comes back from the injury in 3-4 weeks.

I have one league where I help my good buddy.
    He has Forte.

I pushed him from draft day to pick up Ben Tate as Arian Foster.
He finally caved this wee and dropped Russell Wilson to get Tate.

    Talk about good timing.
It's a start 1RB/1 FLEX league and he just lost Forte.

Foster/Tate with 1RB... exhaling sigh of relief.
Foster alone as 1RB... could have been trouble with Forte out.

Updating an earlier report, coach Lovie Smith indicated Monday that Forte did not sustain a high ankle sprain this past Thursday against the Packers, ESPN Chicago reports. "Matt did go down with an ankle injury. It's not a high ankle sprain, as has been reported," Smith said Monday on WBBM 780-AM Radio.

Recommendation: Though Forte did not sustain the more severe variety of ankle sprains, he is still sore and his Week 3 status remains iffy enough for the Bears to have added some running back depth by re-signing Kahlil Bell.
    That's from rotowire.

    And then later...
Coach Lovie Smith noted Monday that Forte may not be dealing with a high ankle sprain, ESPN Chicago reports. Smith did, however, acknowledge that Forte was still sore Monday.

Recommendation: It's worth emphasizing that Smith did not rule out a high ankle sprain here, with the team's re-signing of Kahlil Bell at the very least suggesting concern over Forte's Week 3 status.
