    Default Pick the RB (Week2)

My running backs absolutely, positively shit the bed week 1.
Among consensus opinion, I started Gerhart & Redman... yeesh.
Lowest scoring RBs in the effin league.

This week I'm starting BenJarvis Green-Ellis and...

    Pick One (w/Yahoo Proj Totals)
    7.88 Redman (PIT) vs. NYJ
    5.99 Dwyer (PIT) vs. NYJ
    5.83 R.Williams (ARI) @ NE
    5.72 B.Wells (ARI) @ NE
    4.86 Gerhart (MIN) @ IND

ooof. might as well just throw darts for this one... I would probably take a chance on Dwyer. maybe Beanie Wells. He sucked last week though. What is this, a 30 team league?

    Teehee.
Nope, it is a 14-team league.
I had the #4 pick and watched the top 3 RB (Tier I) go.
I took Aaron Rodgers (who wouldn't) and then watched the next tier of about 10 RB go (Tier II).

Then I took Jennings/Welker and watched the next 8-10 RB (Tier III) go by.

Then I poured a couple shots of Jager and drowned my miseries!

You need to dump some backs and pick up some FAs, friend. Dwyer has jumped Redman on the depth chart, so get rid of him and Gerhart who is now useless with Peterson looking fine. Of course, I wouldn't start either. I'd go with a Cardinal back. Beanie is probable with a hamstring. But hamstrings can linger and be easily tweeked. He also has an injury history. With that said, I'd probably go with Williams here because he stands the best chance to get the most work between him and Dwyer and I can see Beanie: 1) Being a game time decision and then shut down. 2) Having a limited roll to nurse the hammy 3) Getting injured and leaving the game at some point.

Barf! You have to trade either jennings or welker. Their names alone could land you a low end rb1. If you don't, you're going to have a very long season. Having said that, this week I would roll with Williams and Dwyer.

Williams and Dwyer or Wells is probably your best mix. I personally think ARI's offense sucks horribly and would rather start Dwyer and Redman, but this week against the Jets that's just ugly.

How about Williams and Wells both and figure you'll get 100 yards rushing, a TD and 30-40 yards receiving for a half decent 20 pts. out of your 2 RB.

Another idea you might want to consider in your league is trading Rodgers for a slight downgrade in QB (Matt Ryan?) and a top 8-10 RB You have some blank spots in that RB slot, sorry man - every one of those gambles flopped!

    Thanks guys.

I'm only starting ONE of that group.
BenJarvis Green Ellis is going into one RB.
Dwyer is my current pick for the other RB.

Gerhart is still a decent hold in MIN.
And I just have to hope that one RB in ARI rises to the top.
I don't think it's a completely dire situation... the rest of my team is OK.

Big mistake people make in fantasy football is retooling their team after a bad week 1 and selling their key players low.

Trading after Week 1 is difficult too.
Nobody is going to eff with their team if they are doing reasonably well.
In a 14-team league, the current RBs who produced in Week 1 are very scarce... and I'm not going to pay a King's Ransom.

Mathematical odds are in favour that one of five IFFY RBs will emerge to be decent within a couple weeks. I just have to wait a bit.

    Yikes.

Dwyer is probably the right call.

The scary thing is that BJGE let Dalton get absolutely murdered on a few plays last game, so he will not be an everydown back for long this season if he can't pick up a blitz. They were safety blitzes so I suppose Dalton has some fault too, but he did not look great that game.

If Beanie goes down for a good chunk of time (as he is wont to do) Williams will emerge as a nice option for you. Dwyer is the best back in Pburg so hopefully Tomlin sees that sooner than later.

I'm a Vikings fan so I am jaded, but Peterson is a genetic freak and I could see him just playing the rest of the year. Gerhardt is a terrible RB. You have too many handcuffs right now, stay VERY CLOSE to your FA news, Daniel Thomas is the only one on that list that looks like a possibility at some point, but keep tabs on Bilal Powell if he's around.
