    Grease wins.
Messier, Shanahan, even Michael Jordan are top players who played with nasty edge and won because of their style. This doesn't surprise me. Top players put up with a lot and have to dish it too.

I think the best thing to take away from that article is this:

In any event, I'm not sure how this is necessarily news: We all know Crosby, Malkin and Co. are just as dirty as the next guy. Giroux's the same. As long as we're not living under the illusion that any of these guys are saints, this isn't all that shocking.

Yeah B0n, my thoughts exactly. I don't understand how that article credibly classifies Crosby as "explicit bunkem." The source isn't really alluding to that at all. Fail attempt at trolling imo.

If that was Crosby complaining about Giroux slashing him, everybody would call Crosby a whiner.

Such a double standard for Crosby.

So wait... article paints Crosby in a bad light... then goes on to say Giroux is the same?

Yet Crosby's a bitch? This all contradicts...

hahahaha this is a stupid article!! Nobody cries and blame ONE player of the other team after they have been eliminated !! I'm a huge Giroux fan but I dont like that... if its true.....

Crosby is still the best player in the world by far....

His PPG in the last 4 years was :

    in 2008-2209 : 1.34 PPG
    in 2009-2010 : 1.35 PPG
    in 2010-2011 : 1.61 PPG
    in 2011-2012 : 1.68 PPG

It will be scary in 2012-2013 !!!!!!!!

In today's NHL those numbers are actually pretty insane.

Hockey players are so misunderstood. They don't slash each other. They just give little taps so get their attention so they can say "Hey buddy, I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate you as a human being"

The article itself doesn't contradict. All it is essentially doing (in my eyes) is tearing down the image that some people have of Crosby as being a pristine good boy and wants you to come away with the lesson that in today's day and age in the NHL there aren't many guys who won't take that extra shot at you if they can. At least that's how I read it. I think the contradiction lies in the fact that some Flyers fans when reading this article will assume that because it was written on a Flyers blog that it is an article about how Crosby is a little bitch, while ignoring the bigger purpose behind it.

Agree with this though, there is a pretty big double standard around Crosby. I guess that just comes with the territory though given the player he has become and how good he is.

The latter part of my post related to this thread. I'm saying the article + this post contradict themselves.

I've spent about a half hour looking through tape of faceoffs between the two players, and well ... nothing is really all that conclusive.
unless you're going to go through videos of every faceoff between the two and show us several examples of where crosby slashes giroux's wrists, then there is no proof crosby did that at all.

IMO, it's more likely Giroux's wrist injuries came from a certain self-indulgence... you'd think after he injured one wrist he'd give it a break

I think we have different take aways from this article.

    1. Terrible article, don't write stuff like this. It is irrelevant
    2. The article is about Giroux pissing and moaning about how dirty of a player Crosby is...

    all of it. LAME
