Lots of points will be spread around the Rangers lineup. I'm gonna lock him in at 60-65 max.

Mid to high 70's for Nash on the NYR's. I believe he is capable of more, though this is what I would expect for next season. It's still around 15 more than he'd post with the CBJ's

I'd peg him at low 60s.

While I retching uncontrollably over the rumor of Nash being traded to the Flyers for JvR and Schenn a few months back, I consoled myself with the though that the full horror of the consequences of adding Rick Nash probably wouldn't be felt for a couple of years, and that in the meantime, and particularly during his first year here, he'd likely show up thrilled to be out of Columbus, thrilled to be in a winning environment, thrilled to be in a hockey market, and extremely motivated to seize the opportunity; wanting to prove to his doubters, his teammates, the fans, and himself that he is in fact an elite player, a good teammate etc., etc...

I figured this alone made him a lock for 35-40 goals during his first year. I figured having a first rate play maker for the first time in his career, being on a roster that had other weapons to take some of the attention away from him, and particularly being one of a few options on the power play instead of having every player on the ice watching him every second; would probably result in another little bump in production that pushed that goal total to 45.

The Rangers have those same tools. They can line up Nash with a first rate center, they have Gaborik and others to draw attention or hurt teams keying on Nash on the power play, it's a winning team etc., etc., so I see no reason why that same 45 goal projection wouldn't hold true for them.

Maybe if you're not a Nash fan, it might seem a little high, but keep in mind this is a guy that's performed well on the international stage, the questions have never been about his ability, but his motivation/attitude.

Leaving Columbus for the Rangers should, at least for this year, result in an extremely motivated player on a team that has the resources to maximize his production.

And when you look at the teams in the Atlantic Division that he and the Rangers will be competing against, you see a weakened Penguins team, a weakened Flyers team, a weakened NJ, and a weak Islanders team.

I think the questions about Nash are real and are something to watch long term, but for the first year it's going to be a power play bonanza for Nash.

    It was a joke.

well, I think he can play a much more physical game than Gaborik and they both have the same scoring ability for different reasons.

I picked 71-80 because I think he gets 35g 40a. He will shoulder Gaborik's(get it) load while Gabs is out, which will boost his numbers a little. I am really excited to see Richards/Nash/Gaborik on the PP though. Could be really exciting to watch.

    Default 80

I think that if Nash is to ever have an 80 point season, this will be the year! If he gets into John Torterella's good books he'll be getting 21-24 minutes per game and should explode offensively! Much like Richards, St.Louis, Lecavalier did back in Tampa!
