Anisimov, Kreider, or MDZ would be nice pieces for CBJ as that #4. Outside those three, CBJ isn't getting a fantastic return.

But then again considering how little stars are typically moved for...

Not really a shitty deal for Columbus regardless of the 4th piece (Anisimov). It's a pretty fair deal considering your player ASKED for a trade.

Not a bad trade for NYR.

We'll agree to disagree then. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that Nash does indeed make players around him better, once he's motivated and with a winning franchise. Plus in this deal they'd be dumping Dubinsky's salary, which is a key component. Anyway, I certainly agree they'd do everything in their power to keep Kreider, but in Sather's shoes I could understand if he was the 4th piece with only Dubinsky/Erixon/1st the other pieces.

Erixon is a Top 20 prospect in the hockey community. Their D looks nice.

Agreed, it's not a bad return. Not as high as some people expected or I'm sure the Jackets would have liked, but Anisimov is a good player.

The best part is that this almost assuredly brings Shane Doan in on a discount also because he wants to win a cup before he's through!

Hmm, figured MDZ instead of Erixson, but it's an ok deal considering the circumstances.

Dreger and MacKenzie are now saying its Anisimov as the last piece to the trade.

I just don't see the value here.

Sure, you get a first rounder, but you will need to make the most of it. Anisimov is a solid winger, not a star. Erixon looks like he'll be a good NHL dman and Dubinsky is nothing special.

I mean, they get a solid return, but this really isn't what you would expect when we heard the kind of offers Howson was looking for.

So, to review, as per @DarrenDreger, it's Anisimov. Dubinsky, Erixon and a 1st rd pick to CBJ for Rick Nash.

Clb's D is totally set...some nice roster players already and some great prospects in the system. Their forwards suck, though. I wanted someone to go along with Johansen. Dubinsky is a good leader, but Columbus really should have held out for Kreider to be included. Oh well.

Dubinsky/Anisimov/Erixon/1st for Nash is a STEAL for Sather. Animisov was underperforming MASSIVELY and was not fitting in with Sather's/Torts' plans. Dubinsky was overpaid.

No Stepan, Kreider, DelZ included (I knew there was no way McD would be dealt).

Epic trade, Rangers will be Cup favorites now for sure, up there with the Pens/Flyers/Bruins in the East and the Canucks/Blues/Kings in the West.
