Complicated Decision - please read ** Please help :

I have been offered a trade that I am on the fence about. PLEASE HELP

I give: Sean Couturier and Braydon Schenn

I get: Bobby Ryan and Keith Yandle

Varibles to consider: The league has a $300.00 salery cap and Ryan and Yandle have a combined price tag of $34 and the Philly boys can either be retained as prospects which means I only spend $1 for them this season and they dont count on my bench or I can sign them to a 1-3 year contract ranging from $1-$3 depending on how many years I sign them for.

My team has a lot of expiring contracts at the end of this season. I have the money to take these players on but wont have much room for the upcoming RFA or UFA draft. I am only a couple players away from a full great team. I am primed for a good season and am committed to throwing away the future to win this year.

If you can afford it, I would say go for it. You have tons of depth up front but I wouldnt call your D stellar by any means. Yandle will be a big upgrade for you back there and theres a good chance he gives Couturier a run for him money points wise. Ryan should be able to out point Schenn. I like this deal for you. I dont know what his team looks like but this is one of those deals I would say helps out both teams.

If you can afford it, I would say go for it.

Like the AXE said, if you can fit them under your cap and contend this year, then what's stopping you??

Compete, win it all and then brag to all the neighbours.

Ryan and Yandle are a nice upgrade to what you're giving up.

Yandle will be a top 3 dman for you this year alonside JJ and Wideman.

You have Yaks and Lando and Ellis on the farm, you're golden.

You should take that deal. No guarantee that Schenn or Couturier reach their upside, while Ryan and Yandle are proven at the NHL level.


Also to consider is that you have some players who are expensive but are overvalued, older, or an injury risk. I am talking about Mike Richards, Iginla, and Gaborik, respectively. Richards value is in multi-cat leagues. His price tag of $13 for a points only league seems expensive, Vermette at $1 will likely come close or be even more valuable than Mike Richards. Iginla is the man but he just turned 35 so you gotta think he only has a couple elite seasons left. Gaborik can be overvalued by many poolies, and I believe he is out for the first 2 months of the season (barring the season starts on time).
