Odd that they would not put any players from the 90s or later on there.

Ran Francis played left wing with Lemieux and Jagr in the 90s in an all Hall of Fame line.

Sakis with Tanguay and Hejduk were awfully good during their time together.

The West Coast Express (Naslund, Bertuzzi, Morrison) were also quite amazing and likely were one Cloutier brainfart away from a Cup.

Modano, Hull and whoever played with them at the time (probably Lehtinen) were also scary good.

Gretzky Kurri were good for 140 goals annually, in their prime. Adding in a LW takes them to two goals a game. This line was never nicknamed, thus, inhibiting their frequency when people talk about top lines.

Lemieux and various pilons. Lemieux juiced 200 points, enough said.

    Excluding Gretzky/Lemieux.

    1. The Espo Line – Wayne Cashman, Phil Esposito, Ken Hodge (Boston Bruins) - Go look at the NHL scoring race when they were in their prime. One year Boston finished 1-2-3-4 in the NHL scoring race. Hodge had 50 goals in his career year. Espo was a light year ahead of all other Elite goal men.

    2. The Production Line – Gordie Howe, Sid Abel, Ted Lindsay (Detroit Red Wings). Look in the Hall of Fame. Multiple Art winners.

    3. The Dynasty Line – Guy Lafleur, Jacques Lemaire, Steve Shutt or Pete Mahovlich (Montreal Canadiens) Domination of the NHL scoring race.

    4. The LILCO Line – Mike Bossy, Bryan Trottier, Clark Gillies (New York Islanders). Domination of the NHL scoring race.

    5. The Punch Line – Maurice Richard, Elmer Lach, Hector ‘Toe’ Blake (Montreal Canadiens)
Hall of Famers, Art for Lach & Blake. Rocket Richard Trophy named afer Rocket. They each hit their prime in different eras, or they would probably be first on this list.

    6. The French Connection – Rene Robert, Gilbert Perreault, Richard Martin (Buffalo Sabres)
    Almost a decade of excellence.

    7. The Triple Crown Line – Marcel Dionne, Charlie Simmer, Dave Taylor (Los Angeles Kings). An absolutely amazing two year run, producing over 300 points each season.

If I had to choose any line in history to put out on the ice during their respective eras, I'd have the Dynasty Line out there. Good luck scoring a goal against them, and good luck NOT being scored on.

I have a friend that played about 60 games in the NHL.

His first shift was against.... the Dynasty Line!

They were lined up for a faceoff (I think at centre, or in the Montreal end). My friend gets his very first NHL shift. Nervousness and excitement! He looks across and sees he's lining up against LAFLEUR! I know he was super excited. Puck drops, Lafleur steps around him, grabs the puck, goes down the ice and scores...

I suspect my friend picks the Dynasty Line too!

I'm still going with my friends boyhood idol (they're both Italian) "Esposito"!

    Sentium,

Sittler.... I would have to agree! How'd I forget the boy that grew up 20 minutes down the road!!!

Then I read your note, about apostrophe's!!!

I worked for a small town newspaper for 17 years. I was banned from using an apostrophe!

    LOL

I never did figure the damn things out!

    I'll add Sittler!
