Um YES.
In your league, concerning the stats and all that...
Radulov>Semin
Brown>Naslund
Meszaros>Hedjuk
Ryan=Jokinen OR Voracek>Jokinen
Team A wins hands down.
grab a beer/soda pop/coffee, a fair bit of info here gentleman

Here is the trade offer:
Radulov - Meszaros - Brown - Ryan - Voracek for Semin - Naslund - Hejduk - Jokinen
Should team A make this trade? And if so, is Boyle the guy to cut? Alternately, any counters, im tempted to try without Meszaros.
Another question, where does Dustin Brown rank compared to Semin? Once again, looking at top 300 players, Brown is ahead of Semin, but is he really the better LONG TERM player?
thx as always gentleman (and ladies, if any).

I\'d agree. Brown is a force when PIM are included.

Ryan = Jokinen?!?!? and Voracek > Jokinen???
i mean, it is a really shallow league as you can see, so do these guys who have almost no nhl experience (and none for Voracek) really beat out a stud like Jokinen who is about a ppg and 80 PIM?
hmy:
i was thinking like
Radulov > Jokinen
Semin vs Brown = ???
then the rest is trading Hejduk + Naslund (old) for Ryan + Voracek + Mesz (youth).
ps. love the goku avatar
i believe the jokinen involved was jussi, not olli.
team A would make off like a bandit
yeah...when I read his post he had Jokinen on LW so I figured it was Jussi.
kamehameha that!

sorry, i meant the one from Florida. Does team A still win this trade easily? Even with it being Olli?
I wouldn\'t do this. It\'s going to take way too long for Voracek and Ryan to start performing, and the long-term upgrade on your players isn\'t big enough to justify sacrificing the next 2-3 years imo.
Radulov - Meszaros - Brown - Ryan - Voracek
for
Semin - Naslund - Hejduk - Jokinen
I\'m a huge fan of Rads, and I like Brown with that young group in LA, Ryan and Voracek are both nice prospects... but giving up Olli, Semin, Hejduk and Naslund may be too much.
I see
Rads=Semin
Brown/Meszaros=O.Jokinen
Hejduk/Naslund is overpaying for Ryan/Voracek
As for your other question... Is B.Boyle the guy to drop?
I say NO, I think he settles is as the #2 center with Frolov and O\'Sullivan as his wingers. As much as I think Sheppard is a great power forward, the style of play in Minnesota will always limit his fantasy value.
15 team keeper league, points only
3 C, 6 W, 4 D
core of 16, plus 3 rookies (**), 6 round annual draft
C - Thornton, M Richards, B Richards [McDonald, S. Koivu]
W - Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Vanek, St. Louis, Whitney, Hemsky [Hartnell, Knuble, Lupul]
D - Gonchar, Visnovsky, Whitney, Kronwall [Kuba, Cumiskey]
Ari\'s point is not relevant. Look at Team A, it\'s gonna be a few years before that team peaks. At which Naslund and Hejduk could very well be retired. Looking at it that way this deal basically becomes trading Jokinen (no one sticks Olli in the corner) and Semin for Radulov, Meszaros, D. Brown, Ryan and Voracek. I believe that Radulov wins over Semin hands down, Radulov should be a regular in the 100 point club. Then it\'s the proven ability of Olli vs the potential of Meszaros, Brown, Voracek and Ryan. I think in 2 years time this will look like a steal. Almost like trading Joe Nieuwendyk for the rights to Jarome Iginla. Brown looks like a legit 40 goal man and he has a mean streak. Meszaros is becoming Ottawa\'s best option on the PP, especially with Redden looking ready to move after this season, and the kid can flat out shoot. Then we have the potential of Voracek and Ryan, who the concensus seems to be are legit Grade A Alberta Beef.
In short do the deal. Altho I must say I liked it a lot more when I thought it was Jussi instead of Olli (still cant belive he\'s on team A\'s bench.
gah! omg, you guys are back and forth on this one, haha.
I tried to swap Mike Green for Mesz to see what happens. I agree with you big_dl that team A is going to suck for a couple years, but at the same time, Jokinen and Semin will be around a couple years from now, Hejduk is also only like 32, so not like he\'s on the brink of retirement. Naslund would be the only guy that wont be a part of the team in 2 years, but even then, in such a shallow league, i could trade him probably solo for a Voracek or Bobby Ryan.
grrrr, tough decisions.
