There's a guy in my fantasy keeper league (Nsh GM) who owns Suter/Parise/Carle. The salaries are based on NHL salaries and it's not 10 or 12 player rosters, it's 40 player rosters so hilariously bad coincidence for him.
The dude is a 40 point defenseman at best gets 5.5 per. Enstrom gets 50-points a year. Wow the market will be crazy for him next season.

Carle's a good number three. Plays soft, but skates well, gets good position, and aside from the odd boneheaded turnover, moves the puck out of the zone well, ...has good posession stats, blah, blah, blah
Considering what Calgary paid for Wideman, Tampa got a decent deal. Carle seems to have the ability to elevate his game a bit when paired with a good partner, he excelled with Pronger, and finished this season on the Flyers top pairing with KT, his skating allows him to matchup well when paired with a shutdown guy against the better forwards in the league, ...the Flyers used he and KT to great effect against the Penguins, so he's no slouch, definitely not a powerplay guy, but a good puck mover.

The Erik Karlsson contract is GENIUS
Yea, but let's look beyond point totals here. Took the totals from Enstrom's 50 point year in 2010-11 where he had no injuries:
Enstrom
Corsi: 2.25
Offensive Zone Start %: 56%
Corsi QOC: 0.585
PDO: 988
TOI/60 min while shorthanded: 0.76
Hits: 30
Blocks: 137
+/-: -10
Carle
Corsi: 4.71
Offensive Zone Start %: 49%
Corsi QOC: 0.589
PDO: 994
TOI/60 min while shorthanded: 1.71
Hits: 55
Blocks: 164
+/-: 4
So what does this mean? Basically Enstrom starts more time in the offensive zone than Carle, plays less PK time than Carle, has more shots directed at his net than he does at the opponent's than Carle, plays against the same quality of competition as Carle, hits less, blocks less. Of course these stats don't mean Carle is a better defenseman, but it's telling that teams look at more than just points when looking at blueliners. Enstrom would get a nice amount on the open market and Carle did not deserve 6, but Carle is not much less valuable on a blueline than Enstrom if you're looking for more than just a PP QB.
