How many of that last group of 4 do you plan on keeping?
Hi there,
Keeper league - 16 teams, 38 player roster, keep 31.
G,A,Pts,PIM,+/-, PPP, SHP count for skaters (yes, points weigh in a lot).
I challenge for the championship every year.
I picked up a few up and coming dmen this year in the hopes that i could solidify my D. As you'll see, i have a lot of underperformers. Not sure who to keep or dump moving forwards.
Pretty Sure i should keep
Brent Burns
Kevin Bieksa
Dan Hamhuis
Erik Johnson
Alex Goligoski
Niklas Kronwall
Dougie Hamilton
Ryan Ellis
Considering Dumping
Sergei Gonchar
Jeff Petry
Nikita Nikitin
Jason Demers
Leaning towards dumping Demers as Petry and Nikitin seem to have more upside, though im not sure with JJ in Columbus now, and Petry only had 40 decent games. Is dumping Demers on the down a mistake? Because i challenge for the championship every year, i think keeping Gonchar is a must, as he can still be a decent producer in a PTS heavy league. Is there someone else i should consider getting rid of?
At the start of the year, i thought i had a really solid D. They really underperformed all year. Is there some guys i should look at moving while they still have value, or just wait the next year out to see where im at?
Thoughts???

Only need to dump one. Thanks
I would think about dumping Hamhuis actually - have to balance his potential +/- off against points I guess.
i'd drop Demers, the others all have better potential and/or better situations
Demers for me!
8 teams. . Full keeper. 20 active 8 bench+ prospects

Points-only, Full Keeper Dynasty League

Yea, Demers is the guy who I would drop here. I think Nikitin, Petry and Gonchar might be better options then some of the guys you listed on your "Pretty sure I should keep" list, mainly E Johnson and Dan Hamhuis.

I rarely see consensus here on the boards, so i'll take it as a sign. Demers it is!
Thanks everyone - really appreciate your input.
Hamhuis for sure - he's just a placeholder until one of many other dmen take a step forward. Im not sure why the lack of love for E. Johnson on the boards though. His silly golf cart accident set him back roughly 2 years in development. He may never reach that dominant top pairing dman status, but as many people say, opportunity is as important as skill. He has an abundance of both. I think he's a buy low, and completely worth hanging onto for the next couple years to see if he can put it together. Colorado is on the uptick - as long as Elliott and Barrie don't steal all the PP time, i think EJ will end up being a reliable 40pt-50pt defender.
Your thoughts on him?
