Default Hector Santiago converts save #1

I caught the back end of the White Sox and Rangers game just to see how new manager Robin Ventura is using his bullpen. Addison Reed pitched the 7th, Matt Thornton pitched the 8th and Santiago pitched the 9th. His stuff looked pretty darn good and Alexei Ramirez made a really nice play to prevent any kind of rally from being started in the 9th. Add him in all leagues.

I don't think anyone knows for sure yet.

He's the guy I think, they wouldn't go through this kind of careful process for selecting a closer and not have one by now. Its not for sure, but he's their closer right now.

I wouldn't count out Reed just yet if Santiago struggle early at all then there may be an opening there and this kid has great stuff!

I agree with that, but Santiago has great stuff as well and he's only 24.

So is Santiago officially done as the reliever? Any chance of him stepping back up?

Barring an injury or something unexpected, Reed will be the White Sox closer. Santiago isn't polished enough to be in that role just yet, mostly has issues with his command.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
