Default Braves' Vizcaino gets Tommy John surgery

    Copied from the report:

"Arodys Vizcaino underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Tuesday morning.

The procedure was recommended Monday by Dr. James Andrews after an examination of Vizcaino's torn ulnar collateral ligament. The 21-year-old right-hander was expected to serve as a middle reliever for the Braves this year but will instead spend the entire 2012 season in recovery mode. He could even miss part of 2013"

He went from not having a definite spot in the rotation, to "resting a few days" after an MRI exam revealed no significant damage to his right (throwing) elbow, to seeing Dr. Andrews again, to this.

Soria seems to have a very similar issue, so this isn't good news for him. I still like Vizcaino, he's a strong kid and this is very early in his career. Again, we will see if Soria has TJ surgery.
