According to David Kaplan of CSNChicago.com, the Cubs have agreed to terms with left-hander Paul Maholm.
Maholm indicated as much on his Twitter account Monday night: "Looking forward to seeing the fans at Cubs convention this weekend and getting to know all the guys. It's gonna be fun." Terms of the deal aren't yet available. The 29-year-old left-hander posted a 3.66 ERA and 97/50 K/BB ratio over 162 1/3 innings with the Pirates last season before being shut down in August with a shoulder strain.
