For a keeper, team in sig. Thinking of adding Pomeranz, but I'd need to drop 2 players, 1 to activate Rasmus from the DL, and one to add Pomeranz.

    Phil Hughes
Rubby De La Rosa (DL but will need to take him off of the DL and drop someone at the beginning of next year or drop him)
    Drew Pomeranz
    Edinson Volquez
Johan Santana (same as De La Rosa)

First off, I think Phil Hughes is one of the pitchers you drop to add Drew Pomeranz/activate Colby Rasmus. I question how useful he can be now and in the future, despite playing for a talented team like the Yankees. His strikeout rate is way down (5.63 strikeouts per nine innings compared to a 7.51 mark for his career). He started 29 games for the Yankees in 2010, but he's never made more than 13 big-league starts in any season other than that. He just hasn't proven to be a reliable option for any considerable length of time.

I'd also drop Edison Volquez to add Pomeranz/activate Rasmus. Boy, Volquez was good back in 2008 in his debut season with the Cincinnati Reds. Since then, not so much. The strikeouts are great, but he's also walking too many batters and giving up too many home runs. He's 28 years of age now, so it's not as if he's an up-and-coming pitcher who just needs some experience. I'm not very high on him.

    Give Pomeranz a shot.

    Hope that helps!

I really like Pomeranz, but Santana should be good when he gets back.

    Santana
    Pomeranz
    De la Rosa
    Hughes
    Volquez
